Pcrfm Description

In April 2016, Radio Peterborough and Peterborough FM merged to become Peterborough Community Radio and in short PCRFM.

Based in Orton Malborne, the studios are fully equipped with the latest technology and aim at providing a professional local community radio service across the city of Peterborough.

PCRFM is a ‘not for profit’ enterprise, and everyone who works for the station does so on a voluntary basis. The station has recently been granted a full time community radio licence back in June 2015 and will soon be going on the airwaves on 103. 2 FM.

The station is fortunate to have the support of Peterborough City Council and the largest local housing association, Cross Keys Homes, who have enabled the Herlington Centre premises to be developed as not only a community radio studio but as a media and arts drop in centre for the use of the whole community.

Peterborough Community Radio also provides the young people radio project that is supported by BBC Children In Need. Focusing on providing a training programme for young people to learn skills in radio production. Giving the opportunity to have their voices heard and to develop their self-confidence, team working skills and ICT skills.
