Woohoo!! We are back open again! We are all looking forward to seeing you all 😊

Again I would like to thank you all for your support, and especially your understanding of why Peggy's Pantry has been closed for a few weeks for business development. As most customers know (and hopefully followers) we are very much more than a tea room (with excellent cakes) but..... We have also been working on an educational programme that allows people to learn all of the independent living skills while also learning functional Maths and English which is fundamental to f...uture employment opportunities. We have also been promoting our partnership with avail, a digital platform that allows users to be supported and learn through technology (which is facilitated by a support worker/teacher/ job coach/ health professional etc) to lead a more independent life. The Square Peg Company (North East) CIC endeavour to make a change for those with intellectual disabilities. Claire and Barry 😊

Someone special will be paying a visit to Peggy's Pantry ahead of his busiest night of the year! 🎅🎅🎅

Due to circumstances beyond our control with staffing levels the cafe will remain closed for an extra week and will reopen on the 3rd of December. We sincerely apologise. However we will be having a special guest coming to visit in December....watch this space 🎅🎅🎅

I know that unfortunately we have had to close the cafe temporarily to allow for business development and some specialist training to be delivered. But teaching people who support the individuals like who we work with to make change and empower people with autism and learning disabilities to be the best they can be and get them included into society and the community has definitely been worth it. We ignited a spark that will hopefully grow and grow. I'm so proud we are making the change 😊 there is so much more to come! Thank you for your patience and loyalty and support. We will all make a difference to people's life's who have autism and learning disabilities ❤❤❤

Peggy's Pantry will be closed until the 26th of November due to training and development for the other part of our business upstairs. We are currently facilitating some specialist training and unfortunately the guys will be working on this. We will also be working on a specialised curriculum which we aim to have to ready to offer January 2019. We hope to see you all soon! And thank you for being understanding of why we need to close the cafe to be able to progress the other part of the business 😊

Had an order for 2 cakes for a McMillan coffee morning, picked up at 09.30, received a message at 10.25.....all cake gone 😂😂😂

Staff are so lovely, hard working people and Millie the gorgeous dog. We come here nearly every week, the food is fab & yes the cakes are sooo good too, such a relaxing environment you come away feeling relaxed. Highly recommend.

Love this place - One of the friendliest cafes in the North East with great food and staff.

I found this place by accident when I parked nearby to visit a local wool shop. I’m so pleased I did. I always like to use smaller, local cafes, rather than chains, & this one has the added bonus of being a training enterprise for a lovely bunch of young people with autism/learning disabilities. It’s nicely decorated & cosy with a friendly atmosphere, serving decent, simple food & drinks. A little gem.

Great fresh food good price great friendly people relaxed nice coffee a must o and the cake ooo YES !! �

Amazing little cafe. Everyone was so friendly and hard working! Cake and coffee was very tasty too! And the outside area was perfect to enjoy the lovely warm sunny weather! Would definitely recommend.
