Pode Hole Farm

Arable farm with a herd of pedigree Beef Shorthorn

Pode Hole Farm is owned and managed by Charles and Sally Horrell together with their son Harry. The farm lies on the edge of the fens just east of Peterborough and covers 1200 acres mainly arable land. The 150 acres of grass includes land reclaimed from gravel extraction and it supports the pedigree Beef Shorthorn herd. Cropping rotation includes wheat, oilseed rape, peas, sugar beet and maize for the cattle. The farm is in Higher Level Stewardship. Experienced stockman Roy McDonald helps run the 60 cow breeding herd which was established in 1997 and is Hi health and performance recorded.
