In the photo you will see the the remainder of a firework. Where did I get this?
I removed this out of a letterbox of someone’s front door.
Now, you may think it’s funny or cool and it’s just a bit of a laugh. But have a think about this...
... Would it still be funny if the house had of went on fire? No! It’s called Arson. ‘Criminal damage using fire’ is the official offence.
Would it still be cool if persons inside of the property were injured due to the firework or the fire itself? No! Because then that would be Arson/Criminal damage endangering life.
Two every serious offences.
Police are aware that youths were involved in this incident in the Mayobridge area last night.
So I ask anyone reading this post. If you know who these youths are. Brother, Sister, Son, Daughter...Have a word and show them this post, it may make them think twice. I haven’t even mentioned the danger they are putting themselves in messing about recklessly with fireworks.
Thankfully in this incident there was only minor damage and no one was injured. But it COULD of been a very different outcome.

Both of these bags were empty. Have you recently misplaced, lost or had bags like these stolen?
... If you think they could be yours contact us on 101 quoting 565 27/10/19. Proof of ownership will be required.

Police have made two arrests after an incident in Newtownhamilton during the early hours of today (Saturday, 9th November)
Chief Inspector Barney O'connor said: "As Police officers were on mobile patrol on Keady road in Newtownhamilton this morning they were alerted about a black Audi vehicle that was reportedly being driven with excessive speed. Due to the quick response and work of our officers last night, a 22 year old man was arrested after a short foot pursuit and a seco...nd male, aged 24 was arrested shortly after. Both men were arrested on a number of traffic related offences, including dangerous driving, driving with excess alcohol in breath and failing to stop for Police. One Police vehicle suffered slight damage to the side, thankfully, our two officers in the car were not injured." We are appealing for anyone who witnessed what happened this morning or has information which they believe may assist our investigation to call us on 101 and quote reference number 174 of 09/11/2019. Or alternatively speak anonymously to crimestoppers by phoning 0800555111.
Chief Inspector O'Connor added " would like to take this opportunity to continue to appeal to anyone with any concerns about any type of suspicious activity, anti-social behaviour or any community concerns to pick up the phone and call us and we will investigate accordingly."

Following heavy rain overnight, there is a lot of lying water on roads throughout our district. We've received reports of some roads becoming unpassable, especially in south Down, Kilkeel. The Killowen road is quite bad in places at the moment and it's still raining so may get worse. Please slow down and allow extra time for your journey. If you know of any other roads flooded please add to the comments below to make others aware. Thanks, Michael

South Area Burglary Team patrolled the Newry area last night. From the city centre to back roads, we were there. We carried out check points, seized drugs and dealt with a guy who had a warrant.
To all burglars - If you decide to do what you do, there’s a risk we’ll catch you!

**Found Dog**
Police in Newry are hoping to reunite this lovely black labrador with its owners. The friendly pooch was found on the Dublin Road of the city near the Forkhill roundabout at around 1030pm on Tuesday evening. Local residents were concerned that he was wandering alone in traffic but were able to secure him before any harm came to him.
The dog is a mild mannered, healthy black lab male wearing a buckle type collar with no name tag on it. If you are able to help us ...get in touch with the owners so we can get this pup back home please get in touch by dialing 101 and quoting reference 1962 05/11/19.

Recently a new RAPID drug amnesty drug drop box has been installed in Newry Leisure Centre. This facility allows anyone to deposit any drugs, medication and associated items in a safe manner which police dispose of.
This bin compliments our existing RAPID bin situated at the car park adjacent to the old North St Flats.
Thanks to our partners in the PCSP in NMANDDC for funding the scheme and their continued support in keeping communities safe.

We need your help to reunite this little guy with his owners. He was found wandering through traffic in Camlough. While he has enjoyed his afternoon tagging along and sniffing out crime, or should I say food, he is now ready to go home. If you recognise him or know his owners contact Police on 101 and ask to speak to the duty sergeant in Ardmore. Share this post and help us find his owner.

'You can't leave that there.' This mornings advice from a passing motorist.
So we have arranged recovery but it's going to take a while.
... Please avoid the area highlighted, the Armagh Road #Newry at its junction with the A1 bypass.
