Pret creates handmade natural food avoiding all the obscure extras common to so much of the 'prepared' and 'fast' food on the market today.

Night after night our unsold food is donated to homeless charities across the UK. We don’t stop there though. Our friends over at Pret A Manger USA have been working with City Harvest for 18 years and together they’ve donated over 5 million meals.

Fancy something sweet? Here’s a super simple (and dairy free) recipe for our Chocolatey Coconut Bite 😋 ~ Ingredients: 100g Desiccated Coconut 3 ½ tbsp Carob Syrup... 2 tbsp Coconut Oil ½ tsp Vanilla Extract ⅛ tsp Salt ~ Coating: .85g Dark Chocolate (vegan) 1 tsp Coconut Oil ~ Method
1. Combine the desiccated coconut, carob syrup, coconut oil, vanilla and salt in a food processor and blitz until well blended. 2. Line a 20cm square tin with greaseproof paper and pour in the blended mixture. Press down firmly with the back of a spatula until fully compressed then place in the freezer until firm. 3. Break the chocolate into a glass bowl over a simmering pan of water (don’t let the bowl touch the water) and heat gently until melted. Add the coconut oil and mix thoroughly. 4. Take the coconut bar out of the freezer and cut into small rectangular bites and dip into the chocolate until fully coated. 5. Place on greaseproof paper and allow to set for a couple of hours.

Yesterday I walked into your establishment completely distraught with a screaming/hungry newborn baby. I had had a really bad morning and had been searching for a baby friendly place to feed my boy. I sat down trying to hold my tears back when one of your employees started commenting on how cute he was. I asked her desperately if she wouldn't mind getting me a coffee and bringing it over to me. She said of course without hesitation and came back and said "we have all been there and this coffee is on the house." Her kindness was exactly what I needed, I instantly broke down crying in the middle of your lunch rush. She not only listened to my problems but she also packed me a free lunch and told me to make sure I take care of myself. I am so blown away by the kindness she showed me. Thanks to her I walked out with a smile on my face. This is some of the best customer service I have ever seen. From this day on I will do my best to give Pret my business. Thank you so much you amazing woman!

Kind regards,

Brittany

We want to Pret a Manger in Barcelonaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!

User

Very impressed with the customer service at Pret Peterborough. I go in most days for a filter coffee, but on the rare occasion they've ran out, they offer me a more expensive Americano for the same price. Good customer service... but it gets better.

This morning I walked in and looked around for somewhere to sit before going up to order my coffee. When I got to the counter, I had already been spotted coming in and there was a cup of fresh filter coffee waiting for me with the comment of "no charge today by way of apology for not having any filter coffee yesterday"! How important did that make me feel as a customer? How much loyalty to Pret has that gained them? How many people are going to read this post?

And guess what... it only cost them £1... possibly the best marketing pound ever spent! Well done Pret Peterborough

User

Just wanted to tell you about the brilliant service I received in the Peterborough Pret last week. I was in at a busy lunchtime with my 7 month old son & was meeting friends for lunch. A young man named Darren went way beyond to assist me in finding a suitable table to accommodate me and friends (who had not yet arrived) with room for the pram and a high chair & whilst I was purchasing my lunch (carrying the baby), he took my bag for me & placed it at the table. He could not have been more helpful and did way more than he needed to. It was much appreciated. Big thanks to him; it made what could have been a stressful situation, very pleasant.

User

It was her ladyship that introduced me to this place, otherwise I don't think I'd have bothered to go in. Once in though I was surprised and found it a most convivial atmosphere; and the food was competitively priced with a good variety at hand.

Now, I think I could recommend the Peterborough one at least, but I'm sure that the others are the same. Certainly the Peterborough branch is equipped with efficient, helpful and friendly staff.

Well done to all concerned.

I was there with my mum dad and brother doing the last Christmas shopping and they wanted to pop into Pret in Peterborough town centre for a treat drink that I can't have due to Slimming world . When the lady who took our order heard this she made me a skinny version and it turns out o could have three the way she made them . Great customer service

User

I enjoyed a good catch up with my best friend while drinking a large americano with hot skimmed milk and an apple. The coffee The staff were very friendly and helpful. I will go back again when I'm visiting family!

User

Healthy delicious food

User

Excellent customer service today. I was trying a different latte today, coconut milk with a vanilla syrup shot, and because I was daring to try something new I was given my coffee on the house! Really put a smile on my face... and the best bit was the coffee was truly delish' and I will be having another one very soon! Thanks Pret a Manger

User

A friend and I visited Pret Peterborough, very helpful and friendly staff. Amazing vegetarian sandwich options which my daughter loves but my friend is gluten free no sandwiches and no baguettes for her not even a gluten free wrap. So disappointing for her when her only option was soup or salad.

User

I work away from home during the week and as such have to eat out a lot. As a vegan options are often limited but I know there will almost always be something tasty for lunch at Pret A Manger.

My main gripe would be with your coffee; I’ve been told numerous times, when asking to not have the plastic stirrer, that it’s the rules and is for my own safety. I commend your staff on maintaining your standards of service but question the need for the stirrer in the lid. You are pretty much the only major high street coffee shop that uses these so I assume other brands are endangering our lives by not sticking these in the lid? I tell your staff that I will be throwing it straight in the bin but they are always insistent, and I always leave it on the counter top in protest. In this day and age where people are trying to minimise waste, and plastic being a current hot topic, I would suggest that you rethink this service standard and perhaps offer the optional wooden stirrer that other coffee shops offer.

User

I eat at Pret a Manger a couple of times throughout London and liked the variety and freshness of their products. But that they serve in-house products in plastic is disappointing.

User

Nice food but having to continuously shoo away loads of flies from landing on your food doesn’t make a pleasant eating experience

User

Pret, I was disappointed to find out yesterday that the coffee shop I was in didn't provide recycling facilities for plastic waste. As all the cups had plastic lids and their cutlery is all plastic, this is not good. When I asked why I was told they don't recycle plastic. Is this a one off store or does this apply across their branches? We cannot continue to ignore non-recycle plastic waste. What state are we leaving this planet in for our children/grandchildren/great grandchildren/nieces/nephews, other species, etc

User

I normally love Pret A Manger. However I did not have a good experience in their Staines branch today. Firstly 2 of the toilets were locked and the other were in such a bad state I didn’t want to use them. There was no staff available to report this to with ease.

I went to collect a prize I had won in a competition there seemed to have been some miscommunication between the branch and supplier . The manager seemed to be determine to prove that she had the higher ground by being good enough to give it to me. Why did I need to know about their mistake if you are willing to override . Just be professional and carry on.
