Learn how to do life. # This is one of the reasons so many people fail with fat loss and also end up in a cycle of binge eating. # They don’t know how to go out for breakfast or snack on a cookie or go out for a meal and have wine and desert. ... # So when they do have any of these things, suddenly they believe they’ve failed on there diet. # This then triggers the stuff it mindset - ‘ I have eaten ‘bad’ foods so I’ll continue to self sabotage and then start again monday’. # Monday starts - your willpower is high, you’re back in diet mode because you’re making up for the weekends antics and everything’s going good....you’re resisting all the junk food and saying no to the mid week social do’s so you can stay on track. # By the following Sunday evening you’re having the same discussion with yourself again....nothing ever changes. Week in week out - what’s the solution? More willpower? More discipline? No. # Learning how to do life is a skill...like today I had some of my mums pudding...bloody incredible. # Back in the day however - when I too was living the all or nothing mindset, that would have been it for me...I’d have started and thought stuff it I might as well keep going...eaten loads, felt sick and then been super annoyed with myself. # By learning to ‘do life’ - IE by recognising that a Sunday roast with family, or a glass or two of wine with friends and a chocolate bar in the week is really just a blip in the radar in the grand scheme of things if you’re consistent with everything else, will help you to see the bigger picture, enjoy your life, and be in great shape. # In the words of D.Godfrey “Calories do matter - but how we manipulate that energy balance is the key to sustainable body transformations” #sunday #foodporn #diet

Fancy a challenge this weekend? Why not try one of @grenadejay death by alphabets workout? # It’s simple - write your full name out, and get to it. # If you can’t do pull-ups - either go with an assisted machine or banded one, or stick to an incline trx or bar row instead. ... # ‘Peggy’ is a sled pull so if your gym doesn’t have one, try farmers carry’s instead (walking lengths of your gym with heavy dumbbells or a trap bar) # Enjoy! #saturday #workout #gym

Love me a good metcon at the moment. # I say I love them, there actually horrid but I enjoy the challenge. Throwing these style workouts into my training 2 x per week at the moment and feeling the benefits. # Give this one a go. ... # 3-5 rounds as fast as possible of 12 deadlifts @ 60kg / 40kg (for females) straight into 250m row. No rest - go again. # Enjoy 😉 #Monday #workout #motivation

This guy @petebrassett 🙏 # Can we all just stop and share some love and respect for the incredible effort that Pete has put into his weight loss journey. # He has lost a whopping 6 stone and I’m so dam proud of him. ... # How did he do it!? # In theory it’s simple - A combination of moving more, simple portion control and CHANGING HABITS alongside determination and consistency. # Has it been easy - hell no! For everyone out there whose tried to lose weight we all know how dam hard you have to work and the sacrifices that have to be made. # What I love about Pete is there have never been any excuses. He has a physically and emotionally tiring job, and a wife and kids to look after AND still he’s smashed it. # And so begins the next chapter together which will be interesting as Pete called today to tell me he’s fractured his knee 🙄🤦🏻‍♂️ what are you like pal eh!? # I promise you this will not stop us! # Super proud of you brother 💪 #fatloss #journey #transformation

Morning crew 💗 # I speak a lot about managing time, and actually getting stuff done. # Writing a things to do list every morning gives my day structure and helps me prioritise my big tasks at hand. ... # This then helps me separate work and social, ie doing the things I want to do like gym, reading or watching something... # If I don’t have a list of things to do I just find myself faffing. And I mean FAFFING. That’s when I get distracted and start watching people do the sheets thing with there dogs. # It also gives me the excuse to get out and drink coffee. # Have a wonderful day. # RB x

Taking time out always give me the opportunity to reflect. # Had a great chat this afternoon with the boys chatting through some things that I have been thinking about for some time. # I am a perfectionist - I have spent a lot of time hiding behind insecurities that I have hung on to for many years. ... # I hide them by trying to build the ‘perfect’ physique what the hell that even is - inevitably I’ve still not found it. # I hide behind them by putting all my time and effort into building a successful business. # I do these things in the hope that if I get everything perfect and look perfect, I can’t be judged and won’t run into any problems. # I therefore continue on with the mindset of what else is wrong in my life and how can I perfect that. This leads to overthinking and overanalysing the HELL out of things. # I know I’m terrible for that and struggle to let people into my life, and I know I’ve hurt a lot of people along the way by behaving like this and for that I am sorry. # What’s good is rather than ignoring these characteristics I recognise it and can slowly start to implement the necessary tools needed to challenge myself and overcome these issues. # It is only by taking time out to stop and reflect that we gives ourselves the chance to think about the areas in our lives that need working on - so to you all I would highly recommend it. # Otherwise we just bowl through life, plastering over these negative behaviours, accepting that ‘it’s just how I am, I’ve always been this way’ sort of mindset. # I am enough. And so are you x # #holiday #mindset #picoftheday

The all or nothing mindset... # I was on the phone today to a girl whose struggling with extremes and many of you will be able to relate to this. # The all or nothing mindset is this black and white approach when it comes to nutrition. ... # The idea that your either on a diet, eating ‘diet’ kind of foods, or you’re off plan and essentially self sabotaging yourself binge eating. # The danger here is that your categorising foods as good or bad and that if you so happen to eat a ‘bad’ food then you’ve failed on your diet. # What happens here is the stuff it mindset - this is where the self sabotage kicks in. # You think ‘I’ve eaten something bad so stuff it, I’ll just keep going and then start again tomorrow’ # This way of doing things is stressful, creates a disordered way of eating, a bad relationship with food, and leads to people being unhappy and unable to manage there health and weight. # This is not living! Instead folks - BE KIND TO YOURSELF. So what you had a chocolate bar? So what you had a pizza? # Learning to ‘do life’ is a skill. It takes time BUT it is utterly empowering and will lead to much happier and balanced way of living! # Hope this has helped anyone else struggling with this issue. Know that you’re not alone, and know that where there’s a will, there’s a way. # R x #diet #monday #health #fitness

So I’d been training for about 6 months on my own before I started with Rory and minutes into my first session I realised how poor my technique had been, he explains every exercise in great detail and makes sure it’s absolutely spot on before moving on! I’ve been following Rory’s detailed training plan that he put together for me for about a month now and I’m now really starting to notice the difference! Rory is there to help every step of the way and is so motivational, I would highly recommend!

User

Rory was fantastic at tailoring a workout for me and my Fiancé that worked the whole body. He explained every exercise to us and made sure that we got the technique right in order to get the most out of our session. Friendly, professional and would highly recommend!

I'd been looking for some help with dieting for a long time and thought to ask a few people at the gym I go to and Rory Brown was the name that kept coming up. I contacted Rory though Instagram and he was really happy to help me out, from the off Rory was such a kind and caring person and I knew that i'd made the right decision.

It's very clear that Rory has a true passion for his business and the health and fitness industry and he certainly has a very extensive knowledge of his craft. Rory is very thorough when it comes to creating a plan for his clients which I loved, and after obtaining some information about my previous lifestyle he was able to tailor an eating plan that met my needs to help me gain the correct nutrition and help me lose weight at the same time.

But the thing that made Rory such an amazing consultant was not only his enthusiasm but also that even when I wasn't having such a good week he never gave up on me, and he made sure I never gave up on myself. He was always really understanding and did his best to see if he could help in any way. It was comforting to know that he understood the struggles I went through, and from that he helped me see that I don't need to embark on ridiculous diets that don't benefit me and make me miserable.

He's helped me to create a balance between eating healthy and occasionally enjoying the naughty but nice things I love, so when I do have a chocolate brownie I can enjoy it and not feel guilty after. I've made a massive step in the right direction, not just physically but mentally too thanks to Rory, and I can without a doubt recommend him to anyone who wants to lose weight and learn how to live happily and healthily. Thank you so much Rory it really was a pleasure x

I used to be a 20 stone whale. Now I'm 13 stone of lean muscle. Thanks Rory.

User

I cannot thank Rory enough for his help with my back pain. Rory saw me for 1 consultation, checked the history of me and back pain, and in that has given me the motivation and hope for being pain free!

Previously I’ve been given nothing in the way of hope, just been told that it’s a back problem that I’ll always have and basically to just live with it. Since seeing Rory I’ve had 2 simple exercises to do which have changed my pain already! I’ve also got the motivation, having started a change, to move more, get fitter and tone up. Thank you Rory, you were the kick start I needed!!
