Rossiter Rowing Boats Description
Established in 1938, Rossiters have been building boats for approaching 75 years. Now three generations into the family an interest in rowing is deep rooted. Family members have rowed for GB teams at international competitions and for Cambridge in the boat race.
Our boat building team have a wealth of knowledge, in addition to working on numerous CE marked ocean rowing boats they have built World renowned racing yachts and luxury cruising yachts plus any manner of craft in between. They are supported by our electrical and engineering departments in continually developing the systems and set up on our boats. Working alongside Neaves Rowing Services (rowing equipment supplier and installer to international rowing teams a nationwide rowing clubs) we can make sure that the geometrical set up is as accurate as possible; a point often overlooked on ocean rowing boats.
Our GRP Training Cornish Pilot Gigs are CPGA approved and available direct from us or through the CPGA Club in a Box scheme.
Our pedigree of ocean rowing boats speaks for themself. Our boats have achieved the following successes on the World’s Oceans:
• Indian Ocean pairs World Record
• North Atlantic World Record
• Successfully reaching the ‘96 Magnetic North Pole
• Winning the 2011 Atlantic Rowing Race, missing out on the pairs world record by just 3 hours
• 3, 000km journey down the Zambezi river through rapids and crocodile infested waters
(3 coastal boats)
We also completely fit out and set up the 2 fastest boat ever to cross the via the Mid Atlantic route.
As established boat builders we have gained a network of advisors and friends within the ocean rowing community that can advise you on all aspects of ocean rowing; such as: kit, weather routing, insurance, shipping, food suppliers and anything else you can think of.

Following extensive consultation with the Cornish Pilot Gig Association we are now well into production of CPGA approved GRP training Cornish Pilot Gigs from our brand new moulds. We continue to develop them by meeting various build standards including Row Safe and ISO. The boats are available in a wide variety of colours with upto 3 colour variations per boat.
