Auxiliary belt snapped on the Focus last night, 6 hours to get home, usually a 15 minute journey - courtesy car today made it all worth while though ❤️

Just picked up a case of wonderful wine from an Essex Vineyard, best I’ve tasted from the county. They only produce 2,000 bottles a year from their 1,000 Solaris Grape vines. Family run Parvills Farm is locates in Epping, Essex

I do love it when large tables pre order...
I do love it even more when it’s a colour coded pre order!

Was invited to this little English cottage in the Essex country side in Maldon. The food by chef Rob Horton has really developed to very good and excellent over the last two years. Great atmosphere and mostly local organic ingredients showcasing the best of British produce. It's a drive worth a detour as the cooking has a strong foundations of top chef . Good selection of wines from the old and new world to meet all budgets and mostly great value for money. You will not be disappointed.

Spent our 15th wedding anniversary here, my husband had the tasting menu and I, the traditional 3 courses. The food was beautifully prepared with creative food pairings. It actually reminded us of our holiday in Italy where we were invited to enjoy a five course meal, prepared and cooked by the owners of the vineyard on which we stayed. Rubino Kitchen is authentic food heaven and if you haven't experienced it, you really should. Thank you also to the chef for our 'anniversary' dessert: lovely touch. Our lovely waitress even offered us the use of the landline phone to call our lift. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Our third visit for Sunday lunch. Everything about it was excellent, food service and it was such a lovely day ate outside under the vines. Would recommend Rubino's without reservation.

Just wow! What a special evening out. Such a quaint little restaurant in the middle of nowhere with a really cosy, intimate feel about it. We were treated to six courses at the vegetarian taster evening and every single one was incredible. It was hard to pick a favourite!

Rob explained each course as he presented it, talking us through the selection of ingredients used. Every dish was a masterpiece, bursting with a multitude of flavours.

By far the best food I've eaten in a long time and the relaxed atmosphere made for a lovely, romantic evening. Highly recommended. A real treat.

I love this place - it is excellent. As a chef it’s so good to find a restaurant where the ingredients and dishes are used in such a creative manner.

The service and ambience make for a relaxed and wonderful meal.

I am so pleased we were recommended here. Went for Sat lunch, intimate restaurant and very welcoming. I had starter of Parma Ham with peach and the best olive oil I have tasted in years. Mains were steak and fish and food wine.

We did the £18 a head 2 courses and glass of wine. Then walked it all off along the river.

Will be back for your Sunday Roast Beef very soon. And hopefully get you doing some cooking classes at The Nurture Barn. Thanks Mel

I am blown away by the quality of every single ingredient on all 7 of my plates!! And the way the flavours combine is magical. The food and service and general ambience at Rubino’s is first class. Thanks to you all

Had the most delicious lunch at Rubinos yesterday. As always the food was amazing and the service excellent. This restaurant is a hidden delight.

Looking forward to trying the vegan night and the children I super excited to start the cookery classes.

Great LITTLE!! Restaurant. Cooked with passion, presented with flair and full of flavour. Keep up the great work ROB and the team.

User

Excellent service, the food was amazing, I loved the varying textures in the food especially the butternut squash tortellini with crunchy amaretto sprinkled on top! Portions are generous and the value is superb! Thank you Rob & your team for a great cozy evening... I just wish I could’ve fit a full tasting menu in my belly!!! We will certainly be back again soon!

Amazing food and ambiance. Very good price point for such great food. Heritage tomato salad to start following by clam linguine. The dessert of grilled peach with watermelon sorbet and mascarpone was amazing. Lovely experience. Great decor and quaint outside part. Also tried to accommodate our teething unwell little 11 month old.

User

A random find, and last minute booking. Forget the nuclear bunkers, this is one of Essex’s best kept secrets. Superb food and service, can’t wait to return!

User

6 of us for my birthday meal. Love the fact that people can mix up and order as many starters as they want. Food was perfect. Enjoyed salmon ravioli and lobster risotto. A really lovely evening. Thank you to the staff and the fab chef! X
