The Song of the Cup She picks up a cup in a charity shop It was cracked and had gold on its rim It whispered “please buy me, I’ll tell you my story Of hovels and houses which I have lived in
I have listened to lovers and listened to rage Each had a story to write on the page The first morning cup and the afternoon tea I heard all the gossip which flowed around me The quarrels and scandals and then who’s to blame Heartaches and happiness are drunk in my name
I’m sweetened with sugar yet poisoned by spite Put back in the cupboard to hide from the light Oh please take me with you I’ve so much to tell I can see that you’re lovely we’ll get along well” She looks at the cup, puts it back on the shelf Picks up a bracelet to try on herself.
Swiftly she turns and her sleeve hits the cup It falls to the floor and she picks the bits up. The story is over the cup is no more Its memories gone as it broke on the floor.

Fabulous day today, This wonderful Buddhist monk made a visit to my shop in his saffron robes . Gave us a blessing whilst placing a lucky bangle on our wrist.....feeling blessed 😊
