I can't remember the last time I caught so many carp in a year, it's all been about the bites this year. No real campaign fishing just fishing for fun how we all started out. A five fish hit last night for Jordan Parry. Red Devil and H.X.B 12mm free offerings, with either white Squirrel pop ups or Red Fruits test pop ups doing the job with fish to 19lb. Top work there 👌👌👌

An eventful 22 hours on the bank with Roxy. The pond was 90% iced over on arrival, however I knew the temperature was set to increase so I set up for the night. The night turned into a blustery day but since 7.30am I got 3 bites landing 3 fish to 16lb 6oz. White H.X.B accounting for two with the Red Fruits test pop ups scoring once over The Squirrel. Another enjoyable session 😎

The anglers catch the fish the bait just helps them. I think it's fair to say the Super Orange, has proven beyond all doubt its year round effectiveness. Two more Shropshire whackers for Gary on a day session. 32lb and 25lb, say no more. Top rodding 👌👌👌

More bank time with Roxy, she really is enjoying it and so am I. The carp made me work a lot harder this week but I managed 2 x doubles to 14lb 8oz. The hook baits doing the damage were Scoberry Twist and a new fruit combination pop up I'm playing with in Red. Bites were coming over both the H.X.B and the Squirrel. I also lost one on a white H.X.B pop up. Hopefully back out again next week.

The good weather conditions have seen us getting a few catch reports. Jim, putting this common just under 20lb into the net on a day session. The spicy fish meal bait Super Orange, again helping him out. Nice work 👍

Jordan, is catching consistently using the H.X.B and Red Devil 12mms combined. Both highly digestible and attractive baits emitting a steady stream of cold water attractors. This one going 20lb 8oz, great work 👌

Gary is still catching on his Shropshire syndicate using the Super Orange spicy fish meal bait. These two at 21lb 4oz and 26lb 15oz, being two of the better ones. Who says fish meal baits don't work in cold water!? Good angling 👌

The hook-bait, becomes extremely important during the cold water period. The carp are feeding for much shorter periods and with much less intensity. Gauging the correct amount of free offerings to use becomes an exact science, with much less margin for error than during the warm water period. Sometimes you may opt simply for a hook-bait on an efficient rig. Our pop ups and boosted hardened bottom baits will not let you down provided you get everything else right.
