Colour • Correction We can all be impatient at times, but dramatic colour changes in hair takes time, stages, perseverance and good aftercare! Yes we all wish we could go from black to platinum in one sitting, but the likelihood of that happening is almost impossible! Please listen to your hairdressers advice on aftercare products and how long you should leave it between your next colour sitting to get to your desired shade. Hair is only protien and too much bullying will break it!
Here is a picture of the first stage of a professional colour correction done in sheer Elegance on Saturday. From a very warm home strip kit to a multi tonal strawberry blonde colour. Our aim is to lighten further - bring on 5 weeks time! Colour by Gemma, cut by Lauren.

BLEACH! Now here is one frequently asked question that us hairdressers face all the time "will bleach wreck my hair?", or a request suchas "I want to be blonde, but dont use bleach". Well, unfortunately, with most of the trendy hair colours that are 'in' at the moment, they do require an element of bleaching to achieve the desired result. But do not worry! Bleach itself isn't the actual problem, it is the level of peroxide that is used to activate the bleach that can cause d...amage if not applied correctly, monitored, or is simply too strong for that particular hair.
This is why it is so risky bleaching your own hair from a box colour, because they use the highest volume of peroxide to achieve results on everybody who buys them.
As hairdressers we cannot stress enough to see a professional stylist when lightening hair. It sometimes needs to be done in stages, sometimes foiled, and more often than not, TONED! (Lightening can result in unwanted brassy tones being left in the hair - making it look yellow). If you have your hair lightened correctly and professionally, your hairs condition can be restored, left feeling soft and looking amazing. Platinum, grey, pastels and balyage are all achieved on pre-lightened hair, so dont let the worry of 'bleach' put you off the style you want - just please get it done professionally!
This hair was lightened in Sheer Elegance last Wednesday, and then toned with a Sheer Pastel Violet toner to give the hair a crisp, cool platinum colour. Her hair is left strong, soft and super healthy. Brassy to Classy ladies! 😊💇❄
