As many of you know we like to arrange a collection around Christmas. We are always very fortunate to have a great community spirit in Shortstown where so many of you make it a huge success every year with your generous donations.
... This year, we have decided to donate our money collection to the children’s Riverbank ward at Bedford Hospital to help support the fantastic work the nurses and doctors do on a daily basis with any resources they may need.
Our team will also be out, throughout the month of December, handing out hot food parcels to the homeless. We will also be supporting Bedford Food Bank with their “Reverse Advent Calendar” where we will post each day throughout December what items are kindly requested and these can be dropped in to the chip shop.

Your cod in batter is to die for , really not helping my diet lol nobody has batter like yours , we love everything you sell ,apart from 1 thing , curry sauce ,but its a small price to pay, all top quality , always treated with respect. Thankyou

We tried the 12" pizza deal last night and it was absolutely second to none. Lovely and fresh, generous toppings and tasted delicious.



Throwing in a garlic bread with a large portion of chips and some drinks to wash down, all for 12 pounds, is an unbeatable bargain. Beats the competition hands down for quality, value for money and excellent customer service.

We had fish and chips from here a week or so ago. The traffic locally was terrible and the day very cold and wet, so we stopped for an impromptu evening meal. The food put a smile back on all our faces! For me, some of the best fish and chips I have ever eaten. The fish (cod) was really moist and beautifully cooked. The batter was light and crispy and the chips excellent too. Thanks very much! We shall be back on a dry, warm day just to eat here again.

The fish and chips are first class as always and today I tried a cookie and ice cream desert from the new desert menu. Yum yum! Onto a winner here guys.



But what really makes this chippy stand out above the competition is the friendly service from ever member of the team. This without a doubt comes from the very top, leading by example.

Superb food I'm not ashamed to say I've tried most of the menu the kebabs are fresh and inviting and the Fish is excellent quality fantastic flavour and great value for money I drive past 3 other fish and chip shops to come here the staff are friendly and helpful and always have a smile a great community hub the only thing missing is the sand and sea !!!!!!

Omg battered mars bars!!!!! It should be disgusting, but oh my lord it’s AMAZING!!!! Just wish I’d bought one each rather than just getting one to try between us.

Loving the new desserts and milkshakes. The fererro Roche milkshake was to die for!�� wasn't too thick and tasted like fererro Roche. The food is amazing as always, freshly cooked, and a very good sized portion! (Especially if you love your food, like i do �) and love the staff! Much love to you all guys � your all amazing, and the customer service is outstanding all the time! ��

Love the food, love the lads running it and best of all, they’ve just added milkshakes and they are AMAZING! � It stands by its status 100% ‘Best Food Bar in Bedford’.

I just had the warm cookie dough dessert, it was amazing, definitely what I needed after being out in the cold snow. It tasted fantastic! And on top of that such great and friendly service. Will definitely be back for my sweet tooth fix!

Can't recommend these guys enough. Anish and his team provided the food for our boat club fish and chip supper last night. It was superb, arrived on time and nice and hot. Looking forward to our next fish and chip supper �

Best fish and chips in Bedford. Visited tonight and the guy that seems to be running it is sooo polite and friendly, he is always working so hard and tonight it seemed the other two didn't know what they were doing. The guy tonight noticed we had been waiting a long time and couldn't stop apologising. The Food Bar wouldn't be the same without his customer service. Will ask his name when I next go in.

Always have brilliant grub here, can’t fault you guys, and always have great service too. And now the dessert selection is even better - went down a treat and the Mrs is happy. Thanks as always guys �
