Went on a Monday & made full use of the 50% food offer ..the food was lovely & such good value! We were in shock when our 3 meals came to £14 � the cocktails were 2-4-1 which was great as we got to sample quite a few different ones ..the atmosphere is nice & the staff are friendly & helpful.

We visited today after my fiancé and I chose our wedding rings for our up and coming marriage. Steve was so attentive during our visit, from serving us drinks and meals to asking how we enjoyed our meals. He’s a total asset to this organisation and made our day really special. Thanks again we will be back!

Visited today with my friend and our babies. Staff very friendly, helpful and accommodating and food was lovely x

I had my Hen Do yesterday with the Cocktail master class. Which i highly recommend. Very good value with a buffet included in the price per person. Joe the barman that showed us how to make the cocktails was brilliant.

Had an amazing evening for my Birthday at The Cocktail Masterclass. They provided a tasty Vegan and Gluten free buffet seperate from the Meat one. Joe out host looked after us really well. DJ was on form. Will be booking more in the future.

Had a lovely evening..... new menu, so we had some Sharing dishes and cocktails. Look this is not a high end restaurant so not sure why people have such ridiculous expectations but food was nice cocktails fabulous and a fabulous woman behind the bar who was good fun, polite and smiley... I was able to charge my phone and put the world to rights with a friend, great night!

Went there today and one lady in particular could not really understand me which i think isn't best to have 'front of house' I did not take note of names. Food was great for its prices. But I can get a cocktail the same elsewhere for £4.95. I do find it hard that you offer 2 for 1 but charge £7-£9 for a cocktail. A few issues I have but others I may not like not coming back to check our food was okay. (We did leave a considerable amount..) overall I rate okay but probably would not return...

I have to say the volume of alcohol in a double cocktail leaves something to be desired compared to other bars in the area -VERY weak. A second visit to the bar was the same . The music was far too loud which in turn makes everyone shout to be heard. After about an hour we were then asked to move as our table was being reserved. We did though manage to find another. On the plus side they do great chips ! Unlikely to return in a hurry and will go back to Revolution where the service is better.

It was the most expensive fish chips and peas I have ever had. If you like frozen fish and chips and peas. Fish was a gray colour not cooked. Chips part cooked peas like bullets. If that what you are looking for then this is the place for you. Yes that was mine left on the table last night. The beer is first class. Shame about the food.

Went for lunch with the girls and food was lovely � lovely afternoon with few cocktails xxx

We visited today after my fiancé and I chose our wedding rings for our up and coming marriage. Steve was so attentive during our visit, from serving us drinks and meals to asking how we enjoyed our meals. He’s a total asset to this organisation and made our day really special. Thanks again we will be back!

I had my Hen Do yesterday with the Cocktail master class. Which i highly recommend. Very good value with a buffet included in the price per person. Joe the barman that showed us how to make the cocktails was brilliant.

Had an amazing evening for my Birthday at The Cocktail Masterclass. They provided a tasty Vegan and Gluten free buffet seperate from the Meat one. Joe out host looked after us really well. DJ was on form. Will be booking more in the future.

Had a lovely evening..... new menu, so we had some Sharing dishes and cocktails. Look this is not a high end restaurant so not sure why people have such ridiculous expectations but food was nice cocktails fabulous and a fabulous woman behind the bar who was good fun, polite and smiley... I was able to charge my phone and put the world to rights with a friend, great night!

Went there today and one lady in particular could not really understand me which i think isn't best to have 'front of house' I did not take note of names. Food was great for its prices. But I can get a cocktail the same elsewhere for £4.95. I do find it hard that you offer 2 for 1 but charge £7-£9 for a cocktail. A few issues I have but others I may not like not coming back to check our food was okay. (We did leave a considerable amount..) overall I rate okay but probably would not return...

Pleasant place to go and nicely set out. However, I think some of the staff need training in customer service. We were in there for about 5 hours from mid afternoon, and some of them were rather rude and couldn't crack a smile. Although cocktails were BOGOF, were all very sweet, tasted the same and rather weak. Sharing platter we had was nice. Would pop in for a quick drink but probably would spend the afternoon in there.

Brilliant atmosphere and good food. The only let down was I had 5 cocktails and still didn't feel like I'd had a drink. I actually wondered if they has cheated us. We spent £160 between 4 if us and no one felt like we'd had a drink. I went onto spirits in the end. The staff looked miserable and the service was very slow. Overall I wasn't very impressed. Sorry.

Been here a few times on a Friday or Saturday evening. Door staff are lovely and the music is great. Good mix of people but the bar staff are very slow and have the worst customer service skills, they never smile they don't talk to customers just eachother unless it's to ask what your having to drink. Must say that not seen such poor quality in bar staff like this for sometime. Other than that the place is overall very nice.

Very disappointing. Service was slow and was overlooked on a number of occasions at the bar. Music far too loud to comfortably hold a conversation ( it's a pub not a nightclub) drinks very weak; after three cocktails didn't even feel like I'd had a drink. I saw only half a shot going into double cocktail at one point. Overrated in my opinion. Unlikely to return.

My wife and I popped in on a Thursday afternoon to be met by such noise we could barely make ourselves heard. We found a table slightly outside of the main throng but it really needed a wipe over

Still never mind, I went to the bar but there was no order whatsoever. I was ignored in favour of a large group and at least two were served before me. I must have waited at least 10 minutes to be served so I ordered two rounds of cocktails (from a very surly barmaid who was clearly feeling the pressure). I have to say the volume of alcohol in a double cocktail leaves something to be desired compared to other bars in the area -VERY weak. A second visit to the bar was the same . The music was far too loud which in turn makes everyone shout to be heard. After about an hour we were then asked to move as our table was being reserved. We did though manage to find another. On the plus side they do great chips ! Unlikely to return in a hurry and will go back to Revolution where the service is better.

It was the most expensive fish chips and peas I have ever had. If you like frozen fish and chips and peas. Fish was a gray colour not cooked. Chips part cooked peas like bullets. If that what you are looking for then this is the place for you. Yes that was mine left on the table last night. The beer is first class. Shame about the food.

The service is slow, the staff are lazy and can often be seen in groups of 5 or 6 just chatting behind the bar, if they're not doing this, they are chucking ice at each-other or doing anything but attending to the customers and ensuring quick and good service. All of this isn't helped by the management who from observation clearly entertain these behaviors. As stated when the food is served, it is of a good standard and value for money is good, 2 for 1 cocktails and 50% off food on a Monday!

Waited 30 minutes for a drink to be given a glass full of cream!!!!! � supposed to be a Pina Colada. Absolute joke! 1 person at one point serving in rush hour! To top it off normal vodka in a French Martini LEARN YOU COCKTAILS

It was a disastrous event. After pre booking a table for a meal and drinks got to restaurant a minute before time, the bar was 3 deep, finally got to a waitress to say we booked, could not hear a word as it was so noisy. Was left at the table no menu, had to ask for one. Told quite abruptly to go to bar to order our food. Could not get anywhere near the bar. Tried to get near the bar to be ignored. People standing at the bar ordering but also just standing and drinking. After waiting 10mins decided to leave. This was to have been a birthday treat. We went to Revolution where we were welcomed, shown to a table and waitress service all night for both food and drinks. And it was full, lots of people having fun, music but you could hear yourself talk. Can not recommend Slug and Lettuce in Southend.

Went on a Monday & made full use of the 50% food offer ..the food was lovely & such good value! We were in shock when our 3 meals came to £14 � the cocktails were 2-4-1 which was great as we got to sample quite a few different ones ..the atmosphere is nice & the staff are friendly & helpful.

Definitely will return soon �
