By Liam Heatherson The Home Front Legacy Project is a national survey organised by the Council for British Archaeology which has sought to map heritage and historically-important sites to the home front during the First World War. Coinciding with the final year of the centenary of the conflict, it is surprising how the history of the Great War on home soil still commands a great deal of room for further research. User

Thankyou Katharine for a brilliant time at the sensory storytelling at the museum in priory park on Tuesday. We had a brilliant time and would def love to do it again. X

User

Thank you Katharine. My 8 month old daughter absolutely loved the sensory story time at Prittlewell Priory. So much so that she screamed through most of the session (sorry to the other mums!!) We can't wait for the next session. Fantastic way to introduce families with young children to the Museum. I did not realise how much there is to offer.

User

Really enjoyed the Interactive Sensory Story telling session at Prittlewell Priory Museum. My 3 month old boy got to see, hear, and feel a lot of new things to help stimulate and develop his senses of sight, hearing and touch. It was a lovely opportunity to meet other babies and mums too. Highly recommend this class. Thank you Katherine!

User

My mum and I had a fantastic time today at the behind the scenes textiles tour. Thanks so much for putting this on

My friend and I travelled down from London to see the Biba exhibition. It was small but very well presented and evocative of the era stirring up emotions and wonderful memories. I used to spend my hard earned wages in Biba every Saturday in high st Ken and then furnished my house from the old Derry and Tom site. The staff were all so helpful and knowledgeable and we thought both museums were very good and will return in the summer. We were so glad we came. Thank you.

User

My daughter and I went to the planetarium above the museum on Saturday, it was brilliant. The lady giving the talk was very friendly and very informative, my daughter is even more enthusiastic about astronomy now. We had a walk around the museum afterwards, which was extremely interesting and we plan to go every month now. The staff are very friendly and the shop is extremely reasonable xxx

User

Love the Southend planetarium. Steve was an excellent host, very knowledgeable and fun. Would recommend.

User

Had a wonderful experience at the planetarium today. Took my two daughters 8 and 6 and the 8yo loved it! Steve was a great host with clear and friendly comments, with a little humour too! Had a look around the museum with a lovely lady called Tanya helping my girls with the exhibits. Ran out of time halfway through the veterans exhibition so I will return to complete this. On my doorstep and I’ve never been! I shall becoming a more frequent visitor in the future. Well done guys!

User

Had a lovely time at the storytelling session with Katharine I really hope there are more to come. It's such a great idea to have events like this in the museum - no child is too young to enjoy the space and Katharine did a great job incorporating her storytelling there.

User

Exelent! :-)

User

Attended the interactive sensory storytelling session at Prittlewell Priory and just wanted to say how awesome it was. The session was fantastic and my 5 month old twins were captivated by the story. We then spent a very happy time playing with the great range of sensory artefacts. Brilliant environment and the setting was fab. Can't believe I've never been in the building before - we'll definitely be going back to explore further and can't wait for the next storytelling session.

User

Although small, very informative, personal guide with a wealth of knowledge and experience, brilliant veterans exhibition 👍

User

Had a great session in the planetarium; Steve was knowledgable, enthusiastic and friendly making for an enjoyable experience, complete with stories of the constellation's names. Many thanks.

User

Had a look. Volunteer didn't day if there was any order to go around.
