About Southwold Pier

Southwold Pier is Suffolk's most loved destination.

Southwold Pier Description

Built in 1900, destroyed by various storms and floating mines, rebuilt in 2001, this Pier is unlike any other in the land. A real contemporary twist on everything we do - you can eat delicious home cooked food, play with the most brilliant hand-built unique machines and shop for really beautiful gifts.

The Beach Cafe is open for breakfast from 8. 30am and The Boardwalk Restaurant is open for supper every evening March to October.

User

It's the last weekend in September (how did that happen?) so make it a good one and come and see us! We're open from 9.00am to 8.30pm, for hearty breakfasts to evening meals and plenty of fun in between!

User

We're not letting go of summer just yet - we've got blue skies and temperatures of 22°C here today! Come and make the most of it at the Pier, it's a perfect opportunity to enjoy some alfresco ice-cream!

User

Unfortunately, due to the high winds today Seaweed and Salt, Clockhouse and Treasure Chest will all be closed today. However, Beach Cafe, the Arcade and Boardwalk are open as normal so pop in if you're passing 😀

User

With the sunshine showing no sign of leaving us at the moment, how about treating yourself on your next visit to the Pier? Cookies and Cream, Eton Mess, Rhubarb Crumble, Cafe Latte and more ... it's an ice-cream overload!

User

It's the final model yacht regatta of the season this Wednesday opposite the Pier, why not pop down and see this traditional past time under full sail?

User

Good luck to everyone travelling to Southwold for a holiday today! Make sure you call in at the Pier to reward yourself after your journey - we're easy to find, just head east to the beach and you'll see us!

User

If you've got someone in your family getting their #AlevelResults today, why not reward their hard work with a treat at the Boardwalk?

User

Well, it may be a bit more of a 'typical' British summer day today, but a bit of rain doesn't stop the fun on the Pier.
Play in the Arcade and the Under the Pier Show, enjoy a bite to eat in one of our three restaurants, and find something special in the Treasure Chest or Seaweed & Salt. It's a great day out, whatever the weather!

User

Aaarrrr! Calling all swashbucklers, can you complete our Pier Pirate Trail? Get your card from the Beach Cafe and start seeking out the lost pirates for a prize from the Treasure Chest!

User

Went to the Pier today with the kids. They have a Pirate themed Treasure Hunt and some of the staff dressed as Pirates. The kids loved it! Got a free pirate flag when they finished it. Will deffo go back and do it again. It's on all month, apparently. Nice touch.

User

We never get tired of Southwold especially the pier. Love it reading all the little plaques some sad some happy, the lovely shops, restaurant, coffee shop and the old fashioned amusements love it all. There was even a Punch and Judy show at the front of the pier, great day.

User

We have now eaten here a few times each time with a dog in tow! Each and every time the service we have received has been second to none!! As has the food good honest grub! Would recommend to anyone with or without a dog spotlessly clean which is hard when dog friendly. Well done all will be back soon!!

User

Today we had the best afternoon tea in Suffolk, amazing food. A wonderful experience in a great location

User

The Southwold Pier let us host our #SouthwoldSausageWalk here, a dachshund walk for local dachshund owners - we started our group in December 2017 and our first walk had nearly 150 dachshunds attend. The pier were fantastic for putting up with us & our noisy sausage party! Our next walks takes place on the 31st March 2018, for more details search for us using #SouthwoldSausageWalk.

Great cafe, fish & chip shop, clean sandy beach - great for dog walks, Southwold is very dog-friendly

User

Southwold is just a lovely quaint old unspoilt English town, has a great old pier and is a must for a stroll, nice little cafe and restaurant serving really good quality food

Reasonably priced gift shops, water clock half way and hundreds of personalised placks all along the handrails with interesting messages

Great place to visit all year round

User

Southwold is a dog friendly and Motorhome friendly seaside town but don't try and drive down some of the side roads loL .. park in the main car park by the pier or sometimes u can park along the seafront rd .. not expensive too park or eat and a really traditional promenade and no charges to go on the pier and dogs allowed on the pier too unlike some places we have been too ..

User

Pet friendly! Nice place to eat and drink with your dog indoors or outdoors in the pier. Nice views. Nice little place. Roads are narrow and tight though...

You can't lock dogs in the house as not to offend those that don't like them, so don't think bad reviews for there being a lot of people walking their dogs is fair. That's like someone leaving a bad review because there's a lot of parents walking around with their kids and you can't stand kids...

User

Lovely place & it was a gorgeous sunny morning no one about as it was still only 08.30, I’ll have to visit my wife soon

User

Lovely in Southwold. Relatively unspoiled coast and countryside usually with beautiful weather right up until Christmas. Southwold pier worth a visit, several shops, some very overpriced, but others very interesting with unusual items in stock. Very nice restaurant on the pier and also nice smaller snack type meal cafe. Ornamental clock worth a look, very amusing.

User

I had a caravan on the harbour for a very long time it was nice to walk down the pear or a long the barber to the pub and get fresh smoke mackerel

User

Have always loved the pier at Southwold. Today I popped into The Beach Cafe on the pier to request ice for my little girl, who had just injured her hand in the car park. The staff were amazing and I actually cannot praise the wonderful first aider enough. He was so very kind, friendly and thorough and made an upsetting experience so much easier.

User

Had afternoon tea here & it was delicious. Looked lovely & the lady who served us was lovely too. Very attentive & we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Would definitely recommend to anyone else wanting a little treat. A+ service

User

Don't eat fish and chips from pier food rubbish fruit shot drink for a child 1.75 burger came out cold

User

A great place to bring the family with coin amusements, eatery`s and a few gift shops on the pier. A woking water clock about halfway. With plenty of places to have a sit and a tea, coffee or even a cream tea if you so wish. The pier is free to enter where you can enter via the amusement arcade down the middle or at the right side. Great views looking both sides of the pier and along the beaches. Definately be going back again in the future.

User

1 of my favourite places on earth :D nice atmospere, good food, great tea & coffee.. amazing views.

Today we went for lunch at Southwold pier with our 10 month old twins. Not only was the food delicious, the staff couldn't have been more helpful and really looked after us and our twins. We had a couple of special requests and the chef was only too happy to help. This made the whole experience very enjoyable.
