Ross in the contact lens department was the BEST! High five Ross!

Never before has the slogan "should've gone to Specsavers" had more meaning for me.

After being treated appallingly by Boots Opticians - being given no help whatsoever when my year old Boots frames broke, receiving the worst customer service to memory. I crossed over the road to Specsavers and they were happy to help - sorting me with a new pair of glasses for £35 and a temporary fix on my old glasses until my new ones come in. I will always use Specsavers now. Thank you for all the help from everyone in the Southend branch. Can't fault you!

I had my eyes tested by vision express and ordered my glasses from specsavers. When they arrived something didn't quite seem right, the lenses were made to the prescription but they just didn't seem right. As I now had a prism lense I was advised they could take a couple of weeks to adjust too but if not then I was to come back. Well, they didn't adjust. So I went back to the store and they arranged for me to have a free eye test, bear in mind they had not performed the original test so didn't have to do this. The optician took their time and at no point did it feel rushed unlike vision express, by the end of the test I had discovered that my prescription was completely wrong! The distance in my left eye was totally out, the distance in my right eye was totally out and there was no reason for me to have a prism lens in the right eye! Just to make sure the optician set the machine to the prescription they thought it should be and the one vision express had prescribed so I could see the difference, suddenly I could see again, no double vision, no feeling like I was on a boat, just simple clear vision. Next, they offered to change the prescription in my lenses for no additional charge despite it not being their fault that the prescription was wrong. Finally they had the new lenses sent to the store within 72 hours, this was 2 pairs of new lenses, one reaction, one polarized and both with anti glare on a new prescription, fitted for no extra cost. Much better service than vision express who opened up late (I had a 9am appointment), felt disorganized and rushed, and gave me a totally incorrect prescription that was causing immense problems with my sight!

User

Staff was excellent but waiting time was terrible

User

Really upset forced it buying frames that I did not like or want! And really rushed! I asked for black and got two frames totally not black! And got talked into buying other lenses that I am extremely uncomfortable having too!

User

Over a half hour wait on appointment time just for a collection. When we asked how much longer, the rude response was "well we're a bit busy as you can see". Yeah, I can see, that's why we have been patient in waiting for half an hour! Finally seen, only to find that one of my pairs wasn't done due to a mix up where they had pressured me into booking another appointment I didn't even want, then assumed that I wouldn't want the second pair until then. Useless

User

Utterly appalled and frankly disgusted with the total lack of customer service at this branch. I wandered in at 5.20pm to discuss an alteration in my daughters prescription to address her permanent double vision, having explained why i was there (on returm fron Moorfields) I couldn't have been ushered out quick enough because clearly it was too close to closing time. Having returned last Saturday, there was a young lady who was prepared to help, allowed my (9) year old daughter (who has permanent double vision) pick new frames and took her measurements, progress I thought! Received a call this afternoon informing me that as Rosie was referred to morefields as a private patient, I can therefore obviously afford to pay for the new prescription and therefore specsavers simply won't be able to claim the cost back from the nhs. I hasten to add that on my return to specsavers last Saturday, I tried to explain to the lady that rudely and abruptly told me that she couldn't help, that actually she hade made me feel like my daughter just wasn't worth their time, she argued, much to my embarrassment with me in the shop, in front of my 9 year old daughter. I am therefore left between a rock and a hard place because specsavers are refusing to help a child, with constant double vision get the glasses she needs to try and rectify it. I literally urged everyone to take your business elsewhere because specsavers have zero concept of what customer service is. If you want to get into an argument with rude / abrupt dispensers, then this is up your street.... very very poor.

User

Too much hurry, not enough customer care, must be on a bonus system for getting clients in and out.

First class service. A wide range of frames all at competitive rates. Worth a browse at least.

Staff was excellent but waiting time was terrible

Really upset forced it buying frames that I did not like or want! And really rushed! I asked for black and got two frames totally not black! And got talked into buying other lenses that I am extremely uncomfortable having too!

Useless

Too much hurry, not enough customer care, must be on a bonus system for getting clients in and out.

They been messing me bout since August. I been there 3 times to sort out my glasses and on my third visit was told someone had picked them up well it weren’t me or I wouldn’t be here now to collect them. They was dam right rude. Lost money now cause specsacers wants to rip me of pair of glasses. Well I’m sure social media would b happy to here This. I been trying to sort it out and all I get is nothing. Well I’m telling everyone and anyone that you are a rip of merchant

I had an appointment here and was 9 minutes late due to dustmen one way in one way out road and they would not see me. I'm fuming to say the least. Staff need more customer service training too
