Went to the water sports centre today for a team building day with my team at Tesco. Despite some nervousness at the beginning (noone seemed keen on getting wet!), we all had a brilliant time! Thank you to the instructors for a great day, you made the day a fun learning experience for all of us :)

User

Lovely relaxed day - ice creams for kids and coffee for grown ups! The boats and canoes out on the water looked great and will come back to book my children on some courses!

User

It's an amazing place where the kids can paddle in the river. Bring shoes for river. There are peddle boats too. When we were there they had a bouncy castle as well. Brilliant day out with a picnic. Bring your buckets/spades and swim gear and camping chairs/picnic blankets. Parking wasn't too expensive either.

User

I love the park and the cafe is great after a lovely dog walk, however the car park charges are way to expensive now, it certainly doesn't encourage people to visit.

User

Great for a walk, especially on a sunny day. Had a lovely picnic, got lots of benches plus plenty of space on the grass to sit which is what we did. Went to the park, which is gated but could probably do with a lock. Would recommend the park for 3 years old plus really (only a few smaller things plus baby swings). Only downside is you have to pay for parking, think it was £3.50 for up to 3 hrs.

User

two parts one chill (North park) other crawly (South park) Playgrounds for kids and adults... on weekends families are doing BBQ, it's a beautiful place on a Sunny day

User

This is a lovely place for a stroll at any time of the year. I am a regular visitor and find the sailing club staff, and the cafe staff nearby very friendly. It is well looked after - particularly the south lake, which I prefer of the two. Now have grandchildren and sometimes take them for a couple of hours. They appreciate the wildlife ( and the ice cream)

User

My son just did an introduction to paddle sports. He is 8. He really enjoyed it! The only reasons they didn't get 5* is because they didn't remind the kids to put sun cream on at lunch which they said they would do....and it was very hot so my son burnt a bit!....also he said he preferred the kayaking part but that was only an hour of the day and he wished it had been longer.

Other than this I'd highly recommend it!

User

It has variety for whole family with lakes, picnic spots, cafe, watersports, boat hire, dog walking hell there was even a fair there yesterday!

Good day out reasonable parking fees saw some sort of go ape facilities there too.I think they have looked into what family looks for on a day out and if you're lucky enough to get the sunshine like we did there's no need to be disappointed apart from a little bit crowded and difficult parking as a result but we'll worth a visit.

User

I like it here. It's very pretty. I never could ride a bike but they have accessible bikes available so I've been triking round the lake! Love it! Went for a walk on Boxing Day which was great. The parking may be expensive but residents of Welwyn Hatfield can get a residents permit and then it's £1.50 for any length of time.

User

All good apart from trying to get in and out of the place they need to make the road bigger so no cars will get scratched by other cars also need to put some shady areas for the kids to cool down in

User

Nice walk and park for the children, but car paring is expensive. We googled before we left and was informed that the cafe is open 7 days a week from 1st of March, it was not open yesterday which resulted in lots of tears from the grandchildren!

User

My 7yr old son and I walked down to stanborough yesterday after school . There were quite a few families some playing in the park , the majority of children were in the river playing , Laughing having so much fun . Imagine if we had a splash park how many families would come and use the facilities I would . We are missing out in W.G.C and so are you ... so please bring back the splash park and we can be proud of our town again .

User

Lovely place but I think the parking charges are a bit excessive now, it used to be just £2 for the whole day. Now it's almost that for just one hour. I don't think it warrants such high charges. I only spent an hour there as didn't want to pay anymore than £1.70....

User

Loved the boats and park but the climbing thing was a disappointment. Very disorganised and expensive for what you get, plus some kids get more goes than others which is unfair, due to their timings being overrun, poor kids.

User

It was quite clean and tidy. Car park v expensive for an out of town location. The kiosk near the play park is tiny and needs massive investment- think of all the parents buying coffees you could take from! Not much in play park for tots. Could do with a proper cafe doing decent food and drink- it would make the place much more attractive.

User

I was disappointed that the cafe wasn't open. Other people were saying the same. Even in winter dog walkers & bird watchers like coffee n cake. Possibly the big restaurant sale them but no signs saying that, & I'd doubt dogs would have been allowed in anyway.

User

car parking too expensive and the toilets were disgusting

User

Had a great day fishing just a shame the fineness dustman used such bad language and was very abusive. I now know l put my Bivvy up in wrong place and was apologetic and offered to move it but he still used abusive language in front of my disabled mum l was honestly discussed with his behaviour and then to find out his on the commitee for the fisheries. Think this needs looking into. I will be writing to the council .
