I have arranged this smiling Medieval Lion Beast with some of our borders to visualize how they would work with this lion stencil.You might think this lion is a bit strange. This is because the medieval artist had never seen a real lion and had to use their imagination and descriptions from travelers.

Ephesus with its superb extensive ruins is only a few miles from the Aegean Sea. These ruins reveal the brilliant cultural life of this ancient Ionian city which flourished from 6th Century BC onwards. The marble road alone was breathtaking. It is one of the most impressive places I have visited. This stencil depicts the doorway to the Temple of Hadrien. This temple is made from interchangeable double overlay stencil parts that allow you to design your own temple. I recently went on a visit to the Houses of Parliament. It was impressive. This stencil design is based on the Pugin tiles I saw on this visit to the Palace of Westminster.
