What lovely little place.. kids loved the celebrations and toys shop, also craftySuffolk.

I think we all came home with something . Well worth the visit .

User

We brought 2 seven year old’s and an eight year old to the Children’s Festival. We had a fantastic time! Loads of fun stuff to do for no extra cost and was really pleased with the variety of things to do and that they could Make their own costumes, headbands, and festival garb. We brought a picnic and had a nice picnic table to eat at. They especially liked the silent disco, dance workshop, yoga, secret agent training and circus skills. I enjoyed listening to the music. They wanted to go on the inflatables which was an extra cost, but since there was a free giant bouncy pillow just outside the festival gates they were very happy to use that instead. We left with 3 very tired children.

User

Took our granddaughter to the new play barn yesterday & it was brilliant, Poppy took our granddaughter round several times as she is only 18 months. Warm welcome & good value for money as there is no time limit...we'll be back!

User

Reading all the 1star reviews, can't please everyone I guess. Ah well. My only grievance is a couple of shops are pricey but that's my fault for being a cheap skate ^_^

Love the area, love camping here, love the events, love love love! Can't wait for history alive again! My long term goal is to get one of the holiday homes here. That would be bliss! Went to 2 events that involved camping last year and the Christmas fayre 3 upcoming this year (2 or 3 camping) and hopefully the fayre again...

You're stuck with us and our silly blue tent I'm afraid <3

User

Love the new look, much safer now that you won't get run over by the cars in the centre. Got some plants from the garden centre and they brought them to my car without being asked. Handy as I am disabled. Brilliant place, like the new shops now giving more choices, recommended to all.

User

Had fish and chips in the market square last night superb well worth the wait while they were cooked. Also nice to not have to look out for cars in tge newly pedestrianisec area.

User

Just been to the children’s festival, My grandchildren had a great time.

They danced and played music on stage with a musician, made 3 or 4 lovely craft items, danced at the silent disco ( which they loved, something very different), became a secret agent ( this included obstacle course, puzzles and code breaking) , had a free glitter tattoo, watched and joined in with circus skills, amazing day out for £10, grandchildren are now exhausted. Happy days .

User

We came for the children’s festival. I paid £10 for my 3yr old but there wasn’t much for him to do. The free stalls were most crafts based which gets boring after the first couple, the silent disco didn’t have any lights so was literally just listening to music on headphones and the entertainment was more for 5+ yrs in my opinion. Didn’t get £10 worth of fun for him. The bouncy castle was where he spent most his time and that was at additional cost. Toilets were really wet and messy (men and ladies). I’d come back for the soft play and shops but not for the festival unless made free for under 5’s.

User

I do really love the place but after today's Kids Festival I got very disappointed. Had paid £10 for one child, another is under 3 so is free but needed another £30-50 to make kids really happy as all things to do around there were so expensive. All the stuff which there free to do are really nice but mostly for kids up to 6yo about as my daughter who is 8 didn't really find it interesting.

Hope the Festival continues to exist with some changes made.

User

Did feel cheated that my £10 pounds instantly turned into £15 per child as bouncy castles were not included in price which turned day very expensive with 3 kids. Also not very well organised inside nothing happened when suppose too which meant kids started getting bit irritated. Went to get face painted but fully booked. Just a bit disappointing all round.

User

We visited the children's festival yesterday. Paid £10.00 for my 5 year old son and 14 year old sister. Have no idea what I actually paid this for as you had to pay for everything once inside! My 14 year old sister had nothing to do!

It's a lovely place but this event was a rip off. My child couldn't have their face painted as there was on one lady doing it! The silent disco was ridiculous, no lights or anything. Only two birds on display that didn't fly?? The arts tent and secret agent bits were chaos. The only parts we enjoyed were the parts we had to pay extra for. Very disappointed. If ide known I would have spent so much I would have taken them somewhere else! No need whatsoever for the entrance fee. This was our first time and has put me off returning.

User

Used to go frequently to buy animal feed can't park nearby now, same for the toy shop will go to Smyth's now where we can park to carry heavy or bulky boxes we are elderly but not disabled and it is too far to walk from the car parks

User

Sorry to say I went to the dog show on 7th May and was very disappointed. I appreciate that it was for charity but for £6 to get in was hoping for at least a few more stalls. There was 10 stands, mostly selling what was in the shops (that you could go to without paying the £6). Apart from entering the dog show there was nothing else to do. The grounds are lovely and really appreciated the paddling pools.

User

shops are closed or open at very strange times thought it was very strange that a bbq was almost in the middle of what used to be a car park shame that you can not pull in the front of the shops any more as it is very difficult to carry large or heavy items to the car now .. also I was a little concerned that emergency vehicles would not be able to gain access as posts are locked in place would not recommend to friends for shopping a shame really as I think it could be very nice if more thought was put in

User

You should be ashamed. Making money by false and misleading advertising. You are now posting the extra costs but in all your advertising prior to this you had not mentioned it. This is VERY misleading and I can see why many people like my wife feel totally ripped off. This is the 2nd event we have attended at Stonham Barns and it’s safe to say we won’t be returning. #ripoff

User

What a load of tripe !! £10 to get in and the only free stuff to do was play with a hula hoop and some space hoppers ! The silent disco was rubbish there was no one to entertain the kids so they just stood there doing sweet FA with faces like a wet weekend . The inflatables looked fun but that was £5 per child . False advertising for sure , what a clever way to basically scam people . I suggest you don't bother again bought shame on a place that more than likely is usually a lovely place to spend time at with family and friends !!

User

Went to the children’s festival today (30th), 4 kids from 1 to 9, very poor, everything costs extra, some very odd activities, let’s pay £2 for a balloon with a couple of bits of cardboard on it, no giant bubbles, seemed a bit of a shambles, staff not knowing what events were on etc, lots of extra money on top of the £10 already paid to walk round a small field. The “event” was mildly saved by a man drawing some excellent pictures in the large tent, I don’t think he worked there, but he was very talented.

All in all a bigger rip off than leg wax..

User

We paid £10 per child for the children's festival but I'm not sure two pine cones, a few pine needles and double sided sticky tape warranted the price! Most activities which involved more than a hula hoop, space hopper or ribbon were additional cost.

We arranged to meet family here to spend our twins birthday here - an hour later and with much apology to them we left!

And we weren't the only ones shocked at what this 'event' entailed - we heard several saying the same thing as we all walked back to our cars to leave an hour and half after it opened. Members of staff didn't even seem concerned that people were leaving soo quickly!

User

Very disappointing. Came to get something from Molly Blog shop and it was closed, but had on website that open . Website also says dog friendly, really, no it’s not, nowhere to go in and have a drink . Last time I shall bother with here.
