Tendring Model Flying Club

Our club enjoys flying Radio Controlled airplanes outside on our flying field near Wix in Essex.

We are lucky enough to have one acre of airstrip laid to grass and we fly in an area of 30 acres.

We fly Electric and IC models and some of us have drones too. We do not allow jets as we fly above farmland and cannot risk any fires.

We are a friendly club and welcoming to new members. If you would like to join please complete the new member form and submit it and we will get back to you.

We take safety seriously and are affiliated with the British Model Flying Association.
All club members must have BMFA insurance and solo flying is only allowed once you have qualified and passed your ‘A’ certificate. Until that time you can train with a member who has an ‘A’ certificate on a buddy box.

A buddy box is a transmitter that is linked to another so if you are ever in difficulty, the experienced pilot can take control.
