We had a lovely evening at 'the Bakehouse WGC last night, the food was fresh and hot, the service was excellent, the restaurant was clean and tidy, we will definitely be back for more visits, well done 'Bakehouse' 10 out of 10,,,

User

Our party of 7 had our xmas day dinner here yesterday and what a great experience.. amazing food, service spot on, and a lovely warm friendly atmosphere as all our previous visits have been... 5* all the way

User

My 6th visit to the Bakehouse, this time for a pre-Xmas dinner with a friend. We had pre-booked the festive menu and the soup starter was lovely and served at just the right temperature. The main course was the carvery which was tasty and generously served. The Christmas pudding dessert was a little disappointing in that the brandy ice cream overpowered the taste of the pudding. The whole meal including a soft drink and a coffee each was approximately £20 which was good value for money. I had been to a different chain for a festive menu 3 course meal last week that was £5 dearer just for the food and it wasn't as good.

I'm looking forward to returning to the Bakehouse again in the new year.

User

I have to say it was the best pub/ restaurant I have visited for a while the service was fantastic the food was amazing as it had something for everyone and as my sister has special requirements it was ideal I can see myself visiting here many more times

User

Having recently moved back to the area I have visited twice now , both times food lovely , enjoyable and hot , with great service from all staff , shall definitely keep returning

User

We have been coming here for the past couple

If months although usually in the week, we decided to take our mother there because we had told

Her we really liked it, on this occasion it was a Sunday and busy as you would expect, however my wife and mother had the Carvery and I had a steak, unfortunately they forgot mine. But upon asking for it they served it up. I would recommend you try but only Monday to Friday not weekends.

User

The portions were good and the food wasn’t bad .The waitress was friendly and efficient even though she was new. Unfortunately the food was served very randomly so we were all eating out of sync.We had children who were in the outside play area and asked if the nearer door could be opened but was refused , we later heard another parent asking the same question and they were also refused. Luckily we were able to see the children from where we were sat. A little disappointed but hey ho it wouldn’t of problem in the summer as we would of sat outside. Not my favourite eating place but the choice is limited for child friendly places in wgc. The kids menu is quite varied so horses for courses

Came over today for a family meal, was seated straight away,

Went to the bar to order our meal, starters came out very quickly, queued for carvery to then get to front of que for them to have run out of meat and wait and another 10 minutes for meat to come out,

When the other mains came out we then waited another 5 minutes for cutlery, it took them once eaten mains 15 minutes to clear the table and 40 minutes for puddings to come out.

When puddings came out they where wrong so had to wait again. When the right puddings came out we had foil in one of the puddings

Food was lovely but service was rubbish!

User

Well after seeing lunch offer yest

My friends and I popped along today

Nearly 40 mins for food that was made my mick(rowave )

Asked for puddings twice to then have a girl come out and offer everything but icecream and squirty cream

2 mins after a guy came out to say no cream just random icecreams or custard with puddings we ordered

Wasn't overly impressed

won't be back

User

Service at bar was poor. Unfriendly and the female behind the bar looked and sounded miserable.

One word answers and even announced loudly she’d “ cocked it up “ No apology for having to wait some time for our order to be taken.

We went and ate at 19:30. There wasn’t much meat left and it was fatty. The roast potatoes were very dry and the whole meal was barely warm. Shame as it was my sons birthday meal

User

Ordered 2 x Main meals which were delivered in reasonable time but without any salad waited 5 minutes and nothing appeared had to ask for the salad. As it happened the Bolognese was very tasteless and looked as though it hadn't seem much mince beef, the salad was the best thing!

Will not be going back again!!

User

Haven’t eaten here since a large group booking Christmas time when it first opened (which was alright)

Went along last night & it wasn’t the best if I’m honest. We had a group booking (16 people) for food so they knew we were coming. Maybe it would have been good to get food orders in advance, maybe paid for in advance too which we would all have happily done but that wasn’t the case. There were clear problems from arrival seeing the two clearly stressed out people behind a very busy bar area looking like they were up against it. The whole place was really hot (no sign of air con) & we had to add tables to our prebooked tables to all sit down. Food was ordered & we were told it’ll be at least an hour unless it’s for the group booking which was priority. We were the group booking mentioned & aside from one person ordering the carvery (nobody else could as they closed it as soon as she ordered) who ate on her own the food took over an hour & our options were pretty limited after being told there was no Yorkshire puds, bacon or coleslaw (no cream for puds too). There were mix ups with a few plates but we just ate it coz we were hungry! Ultimately we all had a good night coz we made the best of a bad situation but won’t be rushing back. They need more staff definitely, also to manage the food stock better (Yorkshire puds or bacon feature heavily throughout the menu for example!) and the overall service/experience considering we must have spent in excess of £400 in the till was poor. Disappointing...

User

Bad service had to wait an hour for our meal wasnt that busy despite being a Friday night Very disappointed with the food when it finally arrived

User

one star for the poor people working Sunday afternoon. Nothing went right and they had to deal with so many disgruntled customers.

User

What a catastrophy Sunday was. 14 booked for birthday meal. got there 2.20pm for a 2.30pm booking. Placed and paid for our order. 20 mins later sorry no carvery choose from main menu. meanwhile a 30 minute queue of disatisfied customers demanding their money back! we started to eat at 4.30pm with only 1 meal and 2 x sides of pigs in blankets. The poor staff took a hell of a lot of flack. Other tables were shouting etc. Looked like just 3 staff on duty and the toilets hadnt been cleaned or replenished for about a fortnight. Out of Order management!! some bad decisions been made and staff had to take the flack. Should of phoned your bookings and said sorry no food. and let patrons know before it got heated. No money off/compensation and no time for dessert or birthday cake as most of party had to voluntarily go teach swimming! shocking. You must have lost shed loads of money but more importantly your reputation! i wont go back.

User

Went bake house to day food was disgusting meat was dry hardly any there veg swimming in water rotten never go again chef and manger attitude worse we not returning ÔøΩÔøΩÔøΩ

User

I’m giving 1 star rating for the simple fact I ordered my children the pizza pie for dinner and when I can to the table it was FROZEN you could feel the ice when you touched it , absolutely appalling

User

If I could I would rate zero! Got my order wrong, didn’t have hardly anything on the menu! Ruined my birthday! Staff were nice about the situation though

User

Friday 20th July 2018 The evening was supposed to be a celebration of my mother in laws 81st birthday and that of her life long friend whose birthday is a few days earlier. What a mixed experience. The carvery closed at 8pm, which was a disappointment, we saw no notification of this and only found out when we went up to order our meals. There was not enough staff, the young lady that served us was rushed off her feet, hot and bothered as she tried to look after our large party and other tables as well. Some food was ok but other meals were awful, dry and tasteless. The best feature here is the carvery, that was why we booked - it would have been useful to be told at the point of booking that the carvery closed at 8pm. I must add it is not great on a hot stuffy evening as there seems to be no air conditioning - we were all very hot and bothered, which is probably why it is called the Bakehouse. The outside play area was well used by the 3 children who were with us and there is an indoor area as well with computer type games for little ones to use. It was not the lovely evening we had hoped, planned and of course paid for. I think we will avoid it in future. Not sure why the food was so hit and miss.
