The Berkeley Description
Our 20th year sees a transformation from art gallery to wine bar - The Berkeley.
Yes, we do love a good glass of wine, but there's simply no way we're going to leave our love of art behind while we enjoy it. The Berkeley will still be bringing art to Berkhamsted, but now we'll be bringing it in a grown-up wine bar, with amazing art, constantly changing and updating…
The Berkeley is introducing an innovative 'wine by the glass' service -- you help yourself, when you're ready, from one of the temperature-controlled machines. They're specially designed to preserve the wine for far longer than it will take to drink it -- up to 28 days -- so each and every glass is perfectly chilled, or beautifully held at room temperature, just as it should be.
As well as a relaxed space to kick back and enjoy good wine, good art and good company, The Berkeley will be the setting for guided wine tastings -- a great chance to try something you might not normally -- and art evenings. It's also the perfect venue for private parties, whether you're entertaining for business or purely for pleasure.
You can also register for membership at The Berkeley. And like any exclusive club, membership has its distinct privileges. Book your favourite table in advance, get a discount on that piece of art that would look just perfect above the sofa, and enjoy The Berkeley's 'take home' service -- find a wine you just love, and then take some away with you to enjoy another day.
It doesn't end there, mind you. As a member, your 'Berkeley Card' will get you special treats, discounts and more at a range of retail and service partners in Berkhamsted. We're only partnering with the very best in town -- we love shopping and we love great service, so we're committed to sharing that with our friends.

Well done Paul, what a fantastic venue! Top quality wines to serve yourself, any amount you select, wonderful ambience and fabulous artworks. The staff were so helpful and friendly. A great place to take friends for special celebrations or just for coffee and cake.
We had a great evening last night. The wine was to die for and the staff and owner were fantastic. Will definitely be back soon. The cheese was also amazing!!!
Visited The Berkeley for the first time on Friday evening. Lovely wine bar set in an art gallery. Great idea with the pre paid card system. You can choose between tasters or full size glasses, and work your way around the different cabinets! The team were very helpful and friendly too. I will definitely be back! x
Visited The Berkeley for the first time last night, loved it! Fabulous concept using the prepaid card system in the cabinets that dispense wine. Love the idea of being able to sample different wines with a 'taster' size, and to just help yourself whenever you need a top-up. Will definitely be recommending to friends, hope to be back soon 🍷
There's a lovely atmosphere. The wine vending machines are a bit crazy but you'd never try the wine in a normal wine bar. Canapes tasty too. It's a lovely regular meeting spot for friends as you can just use your card at the machine. Come and go as you please and not faff with dividing up a bill. I am coming back to sample the coffee soon.

Really interesting concept that allows you to try top end wines using a seriously cool set of dispensing machines that keep the wines in pristine condition. Plus you get to peruse some great art. There's also the opportunity to hire the place for functions. Thanks for bringing this out of Mayfair and into Berko Paul.
Really enjoyed spending a couple of hours here trying some great wines. Totally unpretentious place for people who know a lot or a little about wine.
I think this place is the best thing to come to town in a long time - love that you can sample all sorts of wines with the taster sizes - and view great art at the same time - heaven!!
I loved it. Spent a very enjoyable solo brunch which led into lunch on a cold wet Sunday, looked after by Georgie who was friendly, attentive and professional. A perfect place to loll around reading the papers over lunch. Thanks.

Always a warm welcome here, whether you go for coffee after 11am, or a glass of wine at any time of the day! Lovely atmosphere, stunning art and delicious cakes to go with your coffee, or sharing platters and hot and cold food to wash down a glass of wine or 2. Very supportive of local good causes and I appreciate the welcome we receive each month for our Link4growth networking meetings. Paul is always keen to support the local community in whichever way he can! Highly recommend!
