Good food warm atmosphere and nice walks
A somewhat controversial landlord wonderfully rooted in an era when speaking your mind was an acceptable norm. No sugar coating here...but a refreshing pint and hearty meal in a fine traditional setting.

Without doubt the best pub in and around Lymington. Staff attentive, friendly and very polite. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced. The owner is welcoming and generous to a fault.

The food is always good here, not cheap but good quality & freshly cooked to order. A nice old pub which used to be a salt tax point back in Roman times for the salt pans on Lymington Marshes.
Great food & the beer is also good.
