For all the customers who have Sponsored our member of staff Atlanta to complete her sky dive - just an update! She is currently waiting to receive the training and then she will be heading up in the plane to jump shortly!! She wants to thank everyone who has sponsored her!

What a lovely place! Food was plentiful, hot and delicious! Went for lunch on a Friday and can’t rave enough about this place! Waitress was pleasant and helpful, very clean looking and modern decor, had a really nice feel to the place, ample parking and a beer garden! What’s not to love?? Pleasingly priced too! Going back for carvery this Sunday! Yum! Can’t wait �

We had a delicious lunch at the Foldgate on Sunday. I had the Roast Pork from the carvery but there was Turkey, Beef and also Lamb to choose from. Everything was fresh and perfectly cooked. We were at least the second sitting and as we left it was filling up for a third sitting. Well done what a change and so good to see. We will be back soon.

Returned to the Foldgate today for our 3rd carvery since they reopened and once again left happy and full up.

Simply the best carvery around bar none.

Choice of all meats,sausages and stuffing and eat as much as you like.Both my kids like the gammon and the sausages!!

Veg all good and gravy is devine.

Staff attentative considering it's always busy.

Chap called Liam at front of house seemed switched on and very organised.

Will definitely return again.

Lovely venue, we often pop in here for Sunday dinner as we head back to London after a weekend in Norfolk!

The staff are friendly and the Carvery is always nice.

Just home from our first ever visit to The Foldgate Inn. Myself, partner and son enjoyed a beautiful freshly cooked carvery. Plenty of meat choices and big trumps up for offering Roast Lamb. Lots of choices of vegetables and nice to see Mashed potato option as some places only do roast potatoes. Gravy incredible and the biggest Yorkshires I've ever seen. Will definitely be visiting again. Well done to the owner for a very well presented pub/restaurant with a warm, friendly atmosphere and helpful staff.

Just had REALLY good family meal here. Starters and main courses all excellent. We took desserts away. All the staff very friendly and polite. We are on holiday in the area, wish we had found this place at the start of the holiday.

Just came back from a gorgeous meal love it portion on the large size.. service was excellent friendly staff we will go back and try a dessert next time ... Thank you for your hospitality

If you want an exceptional carvery, then this is the place. Had one today with my family, and have never tasted gravy like it. All the veg were cooked to perfection, and a great selection of meats. Well worth a visit!

If it’s a Sunday roast, a steak or even just a baguette, the food is first class. The Calvary is the best you will get within a 100 mile radius. Second to none. Don’t take my word for it, try it yourself. You won’t be disappointed. The staff are friendly and the coupled with a fresh clean environment lends itself to a perfect meal out.

Absolutely "The Best Carvery Ever" !! The Foldgate Inn has a very warm & welcoming environment.

Clean and fresh decor. The staff are brilliant, the food is amazing. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend you to give it a go - you won't be disappointed.

Saturday evening,7th October 2017. Ten of us have just been to the Foldgate for a meal. Every one of us said the food was fantastic, large portions and well presented. However the diners who had the table previous to us apologised to us as they were being rushed by staff to vacate the table as we were booked for that table, they also said that their food was good but staff were not friendly and seemed under stress. Surely management should ensure that they do not over book. We found that staff were not very professional, we did not feel welcome. We were told that if we wanted another drink, we should get it as the pumps were being turned off, this was at 10:10. We had to ask for the dessert menu, we felt that staff wanted us to leave as they wanted to close. We had taxis booked but had to rearrange our transport plans as we left before we had planned.

Also the old style pound coins, which are legal tender until the 15th October were refused. There was no sign up to say that these were not being taken.

The Foldgate definitely looks better for it's facelift, it has great food but is very dissappointing.

Very poor, they say they serve carvery untill 7:30 , we arrived at 6:30 and they say they haven't got enough food left, this is now the 3rd time we have tried to eat here and always been told that we cannot. Staff seem very young and quite abrupt, very disappointing as we have always been loyal customers and have bought plenty of friends along with us.

Shocked. Completely shocked.

Wile our table was being cleared the waitress took the tub of ketchup from our table, took it for a walk behind the bar. Added a side plate and put on the table next to us.



The whole of our table watched this as she did not remove the empty plates on the table with the other staff.



After seeing this NONE of our table ordered deserts, £40 loss because this sill,bad, unprofessional ,disgusting behaviour.



We had very bad service from front of house, we will not be returning.

Not great, food very average, could not get a glass of wine with dinner as all the glasses where in the dishwasher!! New flooring is all coming up so when someone walks past your table it rocks!! Building at one end of restaurant so you get that lovely smell of damp plaster, other then that at 9:00 o'clock on a Friday night only 6 others in the place.
