In first place for our #Wimbledon countdown is The Borg-McEnroe Tiebreaker, 1980. The most riveting 22 minutes in tennis history. The contrasting styles and personalities of the participants made it an enthralling matchup from the start: No. 1-ranked Bjorn Borg—the cool, stoic Swede with the breathtaking groundstrokes—was up against No. 2-ranked John McEnroe—the loud, combative American with the masterful serve-and-volley game. The appeal of the Borg-McEnroe matchup went far beyond the confines of the tennis world

User

What a gem Just stayed there for only 1 night. We loved the building, room, food, wine, staff and so on, so we really really loved it

User

We got married here on Easter Saturday 31.3.18. The build up to the big day was stress free with the help of Donna. She was very flexible and allowed us to put our own stamp on everything. Donna organised a room

For my florist and my bridal party to make flowers the eve before. We got ready and stayed in room 14 with a roll top bath. All guests said how nice the food and staff were. A perfect wedding venue for a relaxed wedding :) Thanks again to Donna and the team.

User

The Georgian Townhouse is the most beautifully down to earth, en-trend and relaxed venue, exactly what we were looking for.

The rooms are beautiful, very tastefully done, highly recommended for getting ready, and a longer stay.

All of the staff were super helpful, nothing was too much trouble, Donna was incredible, the communication was great throughout the planning.

The Plantation Gardens are a stone's throw away, a beautiful Victorian garden, a revelation!

The Georgian Townhouse were kind enough to recommend Joe Bailey, who kept the dance floor busy rocking all night long!

Everyone had a fabulous time and were very complimentary about the venue, food and staff.

Wish I could do it all again!!!!!

Thank you all so much for a perfect day X

User

Thank you so much to Donna and the team for giving us the best day ever for our wedding everything was just perfect. We couldn’t of been happier with our day! Thank you again

User

My new husband and I got married and had our reception at the Georgian and we had the perfect day. Donna was incredible from start to finish making sure that my nerves were calmed and that our day was how we wanted it.

Our guests haven’t stopped talking about what a great time they had and how amazing the venue and food was.

The hotels rooms were so beautiful and it’s the perfect place for a bride to get ready in the morning.

If you’re looking for a chilled, down to earth feel wedding, look no further. I wouldn’t have changed anything.

User

Just want to say a massive thank you to Luke & Donna for letting us share our event at the Georgian. A massive thank you for the lovely afternoon tea that Sherri sorted & a massive thank you to Dan for great, friendly service! We’ve all had a lovely time.

Thank you xxxx

User

Had a lovely meal sitting outside enjoying the sun, the only fault was a bit slow on service waited quite a while for our drinks apart from that lovely place lovely food.

User

Had a 70th birthday party here Friday. Very accommodating and nothing too much trouble. Apologies to other diners for the noise and party poppers . My only criticism was the ham egg and chips - not much ham for the price. My pork was to die for though. We will be back.

User

Fantastic place, very clean, comfortable, service is fab, staff polite and helpful. Food was very good and Location is perfect. Will definitely be back.

User

Absolutely fantastic venue for our wedding last Friday. From our very first meeting Donna gave us a feeling of confidence that money really can’t buy, and on the day her team made everything go without a hitch leaving us with nothing to worry about. Special mention to Dan who did an awesome job of taking care of us during the day and into the evening.

The food was absolutely amazing (a view echoed by our guests) and our room was superb. The roof terrace was a fantastic place for us both to relax with a well-needed coffee (from the Nespresso machine in the room) the morning after and talk about our day.

Thanks again to Donna and the team for an unforgettable day, and we’ll definitely be back soon!

User

A perfect way to celebrate our anniversary. Had drinks outside - huge garden - lovely atmosphere. We then moved inside to have dinner - an absolutely delicious meal.

The staff were on point and very friendly. We will definitely be back. Thanks for making our evening special.

User

We stayed at this wonderful pub this week. Accommodation was Amazing value for money so clean and welcoming.

Pub was beautifully decorated and friendly staff. Breakfast was

also top notch. We had an evening meal here too. Meat was cooked to perfection, the only grumble I would have is what the belly of pork was served with. It just didn’t go with the mash and meat. I understand quirkiness but just some nice seasoned veg would have gone down a treat rather that a cold spicy coleslaw. Will definitely be returning x

User

Lovely venue for a wedding the outside area is massive, just a little disappointed at portion size in the pub.

User

Having never had a bad experience at the Georgian Townhouse, I booked the Pembroke Room for a table of 30 people. The staff were very accommodating throughout; from planning, meal choices to the evening itself with some latecomers and special dietary requirements. Even with a small misunderstanding, staff were flexible and immediately put it right. Great atmosphere in the beautifully decorated room, the whole group had a lovely evening. Thank you!

User

Fabulous place and 200% improvement on what it was many years ago.

Great location for us locals and beautiful outside seating area.

The inside is lovely too.

Nice, light & airy.

Fabulous photo backdrop of my St Johns RC Cathedral too from the garden !

However ;

Would prefer to see more Vegan choice of meals as seems to be dominated by meat & fish.

Limited choice therefore but enjoyed my meal of chickpea burger and sweet potato chips.

Was pleased though to have had a lovely soya milk cappuccino ! Thank you.

Pleasant staff.

Looking forward to attending my brothers wedding reception there next april !

My dietary requirements will be requested.

Thank you.

User

Have been here once before and the food was overcooked and burnt. Went yesterday and was not very happy. Staff are excellent and attentive. We had the roast beef which unfortunately was very stringy, chewy and difficult to cut. Sticky toffee pudding was lovely.

User

Really disappointing service last night. We arrived around 8:30 and asked if food was still being served, in which we were told it was. We ordered a drink and sat down, went back up to order food to be told be another member of staff the kitchen is too busy. Drank our drinks and left to go elsewhere and saw another couple ordering food. We assumed food orders were being taken again, so we asked a member of staff and were told they weren’t. We questioned why another couple just have and got told there had been miscommunication. Really disappointing, we won’t be returning.

User

I have no idea why I still eat here, looks amazing taste is zero, no table service And so over priced... wish more places in Norwich had the baby room to help you dine... the only positive of this place oh and the beer garden in the summer 🙈

User

Disappointing. Ordered Superfood Salad at £11.50. Felt it rather lacking and very insubstantial. Realised pistachios and beetroot were missing. Lovely waitress said she was anxious about asking kitchen about it as they were a bit scary. She returned saying kitchen was too busy to be troubled but the manager said a price adjustment would be made. No explanation or apology other than the poor go between waitress. When we left just 20% reduction. Exceptionally disappointing service, management of staff and respect for customer.
