After a productive afternoon, waiting for an Ebay buyer coming from Grantham to collect an Ercol corner cabinet and then deciding he also wanted a pine dining table! Very gratifying when long-distanced visitors are Wowed by the GH when they arrive. Then to the pub for a working lunch with Herts Vintage Hire owner Carla, to plan changes at Green House in the Spring. Hi Everyone. I've had a difficult few months, but hopefully things may be on 'up' gradually. As many of you know more than 50% of my time is spent sourcing new items and getting them ready for sale. All restoration has been down to me alone for a long time now and to be honest with all the other difficulties I've been encountering, I'm pretty much exhausted and now the Winter is here there is the freezing temperatures to cope with into the bargain! I have had to put restorin...g on the back step for a long time, which is not something I ever wanted to do, so I have decided to only open at the weekend for the moment and devote more time to restoring and actually to myself and my family.
Many customers have asked me to open on Sundays for a long time, so I am hoping this new arrangement will not affect you all too much. Thank you for being so supportive of my efforts to establish a recycling reuse outlet in Letchworth, it's certainly had it's challenges and I could not have done it without the huge amount of support and kindness I have had from you. This is such an Aladdin's cave of antique, vintage and retro furniture and home and garden accessories.

There's an ever changing array of restored and shabby chic'd furniture and chalk paint if you fancy giving it a go yourself.

Jenny, the owner, is very knowledgable and gave me some very useful advice when I started my own project.

Go and visit - it's amazing.

Love the Greenhouse market it has lots of beautiful restored furniture, some pieces that are retro, some unusual finds, this little bit of Camden in Hertfordshire is a must go to place especially for photographers or creatives looking for items for their shoots....I highly recommend a trip there !!

Autentico is one of the best paints I have tried and I've tried a few but I would put autentico on the top of my list. And Jenny has always been very helpful when I've gone in to pick some new fresh colours and to have a look around the green house .



Jenny was telling me she just a few weeks ago she will be starting furniture painting classes .

If you was thinking of looking into learning how to learn to paint furniture I would highly recommend going to Jenny . She is always helpful and happy to share technics .

I love The Green House Market, there is always an incredible range of stuff there. It's a fantastic place to browse, with lots of exciting treasures. The only danger is, you'll often end up walking away with lots of things you didn't even realise you needed!

I have been visiting The Green House for at least 4 years now on a monthly basis. Its a fabulous place to browse and shop and buy quality bespoke furniture and have really grown to love Shabby Chic - not so keen on the retro items mind but there is something for everyone. I have got to know the owner Jenny Jones and her staff and have always had great service and have even started painting my own things with her help and guidance. Could not recommend this place enough

Here I am in Berlin and cannot find anywhere as interesting, exciting and varied as The Green House Market. I have been to Flow Markets, antique shops, second hand shops, social enterprise warehouses with family and friends to both have a rummage and go with the intention of buying something specific but they all have specific stock not the wide and eclectic stock here. Cannot wait to see what Jenny has for sale on Station Road when I return in the summer from Germany needing a change to our home and garden furniture. Immy
