Slow Saturdays spent beside the pool 🍦

What an absolutely beautiful hotel. The rooms are made up to a very high standard and everything is well maintained. Staff are fantastic and the quality of the food is amazing! Well worth its five stars.

User

Lovely food in the bar, we had the soup of the day which was home made from the vegetables grown in the gardens at The Grove. It was delicious and the bread was lovely to. Very nice. Highly recommend and will definitely go back 🖒

Just back from an overnight spa package with my husband & we had an amazing time. From the moment we arrived the staff were attentive & made us feel very welcome. Even greeted with a cake in our room as we were celebrating a birthday & then again at dinner!. Food in both the glasshouse & the stables were delicious. The massage was amazing and an excellent pool & sauna. Thank you for a great stay! We will definitely be back

I have been twice now. 1st time a year ago for a wedding and today for a birthday and both times it's been pleasant. Staff very friendly and polite. Smells clean and tidy. No complaints from me & I would recommend to others even if it's just for afternoon tea.

I also want to mention the lady who served us today Vera she was so polite and helped me to choose a tea. I'm a coffee drinker tea isn't my thing unless I really have to she recommended a peppermint tea & it was very nice.

Thank you Vera

After several failed attempts at other spas to get a massage following cancer treatment, Sammy at Sequoia was amazing. A full 'nurture' massage made my aches and pains vanish. Followed by a lovely long, leisurely lunch at The Stables with a friend and her mother as an early Mother's Day treat. Perfect day. Thanks to whoever put the specialised massages on the spa menu. I loved it and will be back soon.

Lovely suite in the mansion . Friendly staff. Beautiful setting. Had lunch in the Lounge, very nice food. Came back after lunch to our suite to find a chilled bottle of wine, fruit , chocolates and macaroons lovely touch. Ate at The Stables for dinner as we only wanted something quick and simple. Food was fine and staff lovely. All in all a lovely stay

Lovely room, attentive staff and lovely surroundings. It did seem a little soulless in places but I believe that is down to the size of the hotel more than anything else. We ate in The Stables and enjoyed a thoroughly good three course meal - creative, well presented and generous helpings - and the staff were friendly and professional

User

Played and stayed here several times the course is always amazing and tough. But the service wasn’t as good - what happened to the guys taking your clubs from your car on arrival, just felt it had lost its sparkle and actually felt quite ordinary when you arrived.

Service in the stables was very slow and the terrace was actually quite shabby. If your paying this type of money it needs to be exceptional but unfortunately it was just ok.

User

We go to the Stable and Glasshouse for dinner quite a lot as we live not far from the hotel. I would happily recommend them to anyone in the past. But our last visit to both restaurants are very disappointing.

Glasshouse: we have been there on Sat night and Sun night before. Normally, there was not much difference in term of the food being offered in the buffet. But last time we were there for Sunday dinner, there is no more smoked salmon, the prawns were not as fresh as before. They used to have a big table full of delicious delicate desserts, but now the dessert table is half of the size as before. No more delicate small cakes and it was full of different types of tarts, apple crumble, victoria sponge which I can get in any restaurants.

Stable: there is no air conditioning in the restaurant, but the weather has been hot in the last two weeks. It was hot sitting inside the restaurant. So sitting outside may be better. Desserts are similar types of tarts and cakes. They now close at 7pm on Sunday.

Don't think we will come back for lunch or dinner any time soon.
