You asked and we listened! We have now added an area to the gym where members can perform lighter lifting resistance exercises, that is unintimidating and functional. 💪

Keep working towards your goals this week!

Members are not required to book or be invited in order to attend. The management team will be happy to explain the rationale behind the timetable changes at this meeting.

User

Top leisure centre. All the staff are great. The equipment is first rate. They have added and lot of new machines. Great swimming pool. Very good rates on membership. A good mixed crowd in the gym. All ages. Love the place. Well worth joining.

User

LOVE the egym..Really helpful and supportive staff! Very clean too. Parking is a bit hit and miss. Haven't tried to book any classes yet but will get round to it today just loading and registering with the apps... #FeelingPositive

User

Great place to go and exercise and then go

Swimming plus you have the spar area but unfortunately the spar pool is still out of action

User

There's a lot of mixed reviews regarding the centre.

To be fair I have used all the facilities and for the monthly cost the centre represents great value for money.

With the addition of the egym (which is nearly always too busy to enjoy) there really is something for everyone to do.

Easily accessible for those with impairments.

Plenty of activities and classes for all abilities and age groups

What does kill it for some users is the timetables for classes are so packed parking is almost impossible.

Then the actual customers those who throw the weights down damaging them or releasing cable resistance machines causing damage.

The worst type of customer is those who don't wipe the machines down or shower before entering the pool (dirty unthoughtful and uneducated)

As with so many leisure centres they really are only as good as the users

If you had all these facilities to just yourself it would be heaven.

Unfortunately we have to share with some who have no regard for others.

The management are not willing to enforce some basic etiquette rules such as showering before entering the pool, swimming in the appropriate lane foryour ability and not dropping weights due to political correctness.

The staff are really helpful and friendly.

There are better gyms elsewhere but not much else than can offer the complete leisure package .

Gym Spa Pool Classes Squash Yoga Pilates Badminton Disabled Access and so much more.

Please think of others if you attend.

User

The swimming lessons are fab, and the complex itself is clean and tidy. I like the idea of a parking permit as it saves time in paying at the metre just to get a refund at reception.

My only concern is actually finding a parking space, I end up driving round and round about 3-4 times before I actually get one and on the lower level people drive up the wrong way which causes problems.

User

The staff and facilities are great!! Only complaint is Linda the swimming teacher was extremely rude when another session overrun x was NOT mindful of members of public around her nor her pupils and very vocal to other members of staff x the overrun did not prohibit her continuing with her lessons at all!! Shocking display of unnecessary rude ADULT behaviour!! Hang your head in shame Linda!!

User

Staff are very good I take my neighbours daughter to swimming lessons she has come on so good as she was scared to get in swimming pool they built her confidence now she loves it so yes they are good instructors x

User

New spa is looking good, only thing I'd change is hot tube with the lights maybe change to dim blue lights. It could also do with my music in back ground.

User

Lovin The new timetable

User

I think that the gym is very good, but considering the amount of people training during evenings it should be slightly rearranged. There are too many treadmills and not enough of body building equipment. I've been going with some pauses for about 3 years and nothing really changed since then, therefore I suggest you to get: Decline bench and incline bench, Pull-up straight bar, lower back extension machine and replace some dumbbells because often i need to tighten them as the bolts holding them are loose and many people can agree with me on this. Aprat from that its all good :) I met fantastic people there and this small issues are not going to stop me. Regards, Robert

User

Most of the lockers in the village changing room are broken. Health area was not cleaned or mopped in awhile at least it looked like that. Gym was ok apart from no tissues upstairs and the normal unfriendly looks off the gym staff, really need to cheer them up or teach them to be more friendly looking?

User

Lovely place and would have given it a 5 apart from the Jacuzzi in the Health Suite is STILL broken from April last Year-that's ridiculous ? Come on , people pay their memberships for use of these facilities and it should have been fixed by now ! someone needs to get it sorted ASAP -everyone complaining about it -makes the whole establishment look bad which is a shame !

User

It is a public sports centre that does its best to function. I use the swimming pool daily an older 25 metre pool with wider swimming lanes than others and session times that are better than the others in the area. The spin dryer for the swim suits is still out of order two weeks and counting. I've seen some people drying nappies in it, big shorts and even towels so I'm not surprised it's busted. One of the three hairdryers is out of order too. It was changed to a communal changing area a few years ago which totalling killed the atmosphere. With separate male & female changing areas that was much better. Gym changing areas are separate so why they changed the pool one is a mystery. After the refurbishment you need to like bright colours in particular green. The name change from Grundy Park to Laura Trott was unnecessary. Let's hope she is not embroiled in the drugs scandal like Bradley Wiggins. She has asthma and that medication has been linked to drugs cheating. The spa centre is often out of order as others have mentioned. The gym is pretty well equipped on two floors. Squash and badminton courts are good. Cafe has WIFi and is not too overpriced tea is £1.20 and contactless payment is accepted at last.

User

Yet another week I’m told Trim & Tone is fully booked. Lo & behold there’s 5 spaces where people have booked and not bothered to turn up. Why? Because they can. No longer have to pay a penalty. What exactly do I pay my membership fee for? Sort your act out Grundy Trott

User

Not impressed, signed up as a member a week or so back and tried to book a badminton court for a weeknight only to find out the membership only includes ‘off peak’ times for use of the courts. I booked for this afternoon at 3.30pm only to get a phone call at 3pm to say you’ve double booked and you’ve cancelled my booking. I’ve called back, left a message and you haven’t called me back.... crap service

User

Iam a member of the centre and spend at least 4 days a week at gym. Sometimes annoying when there is no tissue or sterilizer (very often), or even water!

Some equipment is in very bad state, can not believe that the centre can't afford to buy new one.

Picture is in comment...

User

I was a fully paid up centre member up until about a year ago but found I didn't really use any other facilities other than the Gym but I had to pay a FULL centre membership to be able to do this. I wanted to join again but can't justify almost £500 a year!! Why can't you do a membership just to use the Gym. Needless to say, I won't be re joining!!

User

so after trying to re join from taking a year break from my 10 year membership in which time the fee has increased by £5, not only could I not get parked so was 10 minutes late for my joining app to which couldn't be completed as there was no avaliablitly in classes/creche/gym induction during my free 7 day trial I returned to settle my son for his 15 min taster session to which I queued for nearly 10 mins for a ticket which the reception member couldn't print due to faulty machine, I then tried to book him in for session on Friday (this was tuesday) to which could not be accommodated during the 2 classes which was all I could participate in during creche opening hours, I am now wondering what is the point in attending ANOTHER joining meeting only to be told there isn't the facilities to accommodate my needs from Laura trout leisure centre

User

My daughter has been attending swimming lessons here for around 18 months. I've lost count of the number of times lessons have been cancelled due to staff absence. They never have any cover. When my daughter moved up into the next class I wasn't informed. Last week an admin error made by the team at the centre has led to my daughters place on the course being filled by someone else. I tried to sort it out but Adam at the centre actually suggested the error was my fault and refused to help. He told me a manager would call me back. That was two days ago and I've yet to receive a call. Absolutely disgraceful customer service! I will cancel my direct debit and take my daughter elsewhere. I would not recommend using this centre for swimming lessons at all!

Iam a member of the centre and spend at least 4 days a week at gym. Sometimes annoying when there is no tissue or sterilizer (very often), or even water!

Some equipment is in very bad state, can not believe that the centre can't afford to buy new one.
