The Mojo Preachers Description
Mojo Preachers are a five piece band who started life playing blues. As their original songs have now become the major part of their performance their style has evolved to include influences from American West Coast and Deep South (Steely Dan, Little Feat) as well as the best of blues (Beth Hart, Jo Harmon).
Vocals: Sophie has an amazing range able to reach notes so high you can barley hear them, more just a feel on the back of your neck.
Keys: Carl has played with some top names over the years and has been compared to Sun Ra meets Dr John. Has a passion for great Rhodes piano and amazing hammond.
Guitar: Nick (our baby) grew up on the knee of the Great Walter Trout and has a blues experience well beyond his years.
Bass: Nigel is generally the one to be found dancing on the bar or laying down in the middle of the audience playing good solid bass with a passion.
Drums: Our resident Kiwi, Terry, lays down his own blend of funky jazzy blues rhythms to get your feet tapping.
