We had a family roast dinner for eight people and it was lovely. My extended family all loved the atmosphere, food, decor and service and are planning to return.

Great value for your money too, I had the roast chicken and there wasn't a lot of room on the plate when it came out...... Of course I had to have dessert and once again, truly delicious.

Was looking for somewhere to lunch in Hatfield as was meeting a friend halfway. We were warmly welcomed and nothing was too much trouble. Nice atmosphere. Ordered the superfood salad with sea bass fillets - absolutely delicious - cooked to perfection. Will definitely be back!

Popped on the offchance for an anniversary meal. Just the two of us. Served really quickly and the food was fantastic. I had beer battered fish n chips and my better half had steak n ale pie n chips. If I want to be fussy, the only thing I could say on a very slightly negative note was that there was too much fish. Two big pieces and I only asked for the regular size so I hate to think how big the large portion is. Lol. Still, had a great afternoon and looking forward to going back bank holiday monday for the Keech Hospice do. Keep yp the good work guys n gals.

Took my mum here today. We had the trio of meats. A massive portion of delicious food. Now sadly as I tucked into my chicken it was apparent that it was a tad raw. The staff were immediately apologetic, bent over backwards to compensate & offered free teas , dessert & no charge for that meal. I felt they handled it very well & extremely professionally. The food apart from that was exceptionally taste & very generous size. The staff very friendly & I look forward to returning & recommending to others. Thank you The Red Lion staff

I have also had 2 visits here as part of a large group booking and they were extremely accommodating, letting us decorate the front section with balloons and banners and allowing us to completely rearrange the furniture! It's fast becoming a firm family favourite with us. Thank you!

A varied menu with something for everyone nicely cooked food and well presented excellent service and outstanding value one of my personal favourite places to eat out.

I have to mark it down from my most recent breakfast experience. One member of staff, not in uniform was very miserable and quite rude, must of been having a bad day. My order was taken wrong so we were only served one breakfast. Had to send the first breakfast back as mine hadn't been cooked. They must have just whacked the breakfast in the oven as when it came back out, it was bone dry. There was no butter for the toast. They then bought me out a receipt to pay the outstanding breakfast, which is fine, but they had charged us for the tea, which was included in the breakfast. The service was a shambles and no apology for their mess up. Over all I love the pub and will certainly return, just some constructive criticism for the future.

12 of us for dads 80th very friendly staff waited an hour for food but it was busy all enjoyed our meals only one down side are the chips probably left under a heat lamp as so many people order them but overall great night ’┐Į

Service not too good. Mango passion fruit sundae only had mango and i think it should have had meringue. Also at least two items not available on menu. Will think twice before returning

Growing up in Hatfield I had some nice memories here, some good, some bad. I have had good customer service here and the Sunday roasts were delicious but have also experienced some bad customer service here too from certain staff in the past. Overall I'd say 3 stars as it's an okay place.
