Turkeys are so wonderful and kind. At the moment we have 13 baby turkeys including the most sweetest Silver our little disabled baby¤”ā¤”ā¤”ā¤”ā
Celebrating this years honest and heartbreaking undercover film #Dominion we have our new burger The Dominion burger. To promote the hard work behind making a ground breaking documentary and help spread the work that all animals need our help. Our Dominion burger consist of dill mayonnaise, grilled mushrooms, homemade quarter pounder, cheese, artisan rescued rashers, hash browns, soft bun topped with onion rings. OMG the daddy of all burgers ¤Źö

The Retreat is having an eighties night so please come along and support us. A great way to raise crucial funds for our massive rescued family and help us carry on rescuing poor and neglected souls. Cafe open all day with bar ( no alcohol to be carried on site ) Ticket price ┬Ż10 ( under 8s free ). Music from 7 then the tribute starting at 7:45. BE THERE OR BE SQUARE. CAMPING AVAILABLE FOR JUST ┬Ż20 and for campers cafe open earlier for breakfast. ¤ÆܤÆܤÆܤÉä¤ÉŤÉæ¤É¢¤”ā¤”å
what a lovely place....animals well cared for roaming about...my 14 and 7 year old really loved it and stroked most of the animals. relaxed and friendly place...amazing cafe..

What a lovely place and lovely people! Some great animals - the pigs have such character! And I fell in love with Lara the cow. Free to get in and have a vegan cafe for teas and snacks. Can not recommend this place highly enough. Will be back soon xx
What a fantastic place. Great food from the cafe. Billy the owner took us on the tour which was amazing, sad stories with happy endings. Lovely place with wonderful staff. Worth the trip from North Yorkshire xx
We popped along to your open day earlier and it was immediately obvious how happy the animals are and a joy to see them roaming around so freely and contently. All members of staff/volunteers were so polite and friendly too. WeŌĆÖll be making a monthly donation from now on and encouraging others to visit and enjoy. Thanks everyone, youŌĆÖre doing an amazing job ’┐Į
We have done an 8 hour round journey to visit today and we were not disappointed. It was wonderful to see all the animals and how happy they were and been able to interact with them! Cafe food was amazing (especially the cakes) and the young boy (sorry IŌĆÖve forgot his name ’┐Į) was amazing giving us a tour around heŌĆÖs a credit to you!
We had the most amazing time yesterday at the open day, my little girl loved every minute.
The animals and everyone who was there just looked super content and happy.
The food looked awesome too,we didn't have any this time but we'll be back!
This was our 4th visit and first open day. Everyone there is happy helpful and absolutely amazing, the animals are beautifal and all have thier own little names and stories to tell. And to top it all off the food is great too. The cakes being my personal favorite as i have a particularly sweet tooth.
This place is pure magic! We visited for the first time last weekend and I was nothing short of blown away by literally everything - it has a beautiful chilled open energy within minutes a member of staff had welcomed us even though she was busy! The cafe is SUPERB - sooooo much choice and the food was delicious! We got chatting to lots of the staff, cuddled the cows (Princess is an absolute BEAUTY), snuggled with the lambs and met all the pigs. The whole vibe of the place is amazing - the vegan ethos is so welcoming and kind! Their charity shop is wonderful too with lots to choose from. I cant recommend this place highly enough! We will be back again and again and donate every chance we get. Sending you guys so much love and light xxx
This is the only animal charity that I financially support, it has no kill policy and looks after all types of animals in a loving way and aims to recover poorly animals not kill them. I have taken poorly animals there myself and they nurture and love them. They have a lovely charity shop where I have bought many lovely things, and the food is amazing. My husband and I go there for lunch as it's the best around for an amazing vegan cheese toastie :))))

Such a lovely place for visit. Amazing choice of vegan food at the cafe. We will be back. The man working in the cafe today was a delight to talk to. Congratulations on your nearly 30 years vegan!!
Not sure 5 stars is enough. What a truly wonderful place. I loved it so much. We came for the father's Day afternoon tea for my birthday and it was amazing. So nice to go somewhere you can have 100% vegan food with having to worry. The afternoon tea was lovely but I just loved everyone that worked there you can feel the love everyone has. They know each animal so well. I absolutely love each and every animal there. But princess was to die for. What a beautiful soul. Plus the wonderful turkey's and not forgetting those sweet little lambs. I'm so pleased that everyone of them can live a full and happy life thanks to Billy. I will be in contact soon about sponsoring a few of the animals there and hoping to stay in cow cottage for a few days in the near future. Thank you everyone for making my day so special. Plus we bought two sausage rolls home looking forward to having them later highly recommend this place. Plus GO Vegan!! ’┐Į
My family had a lovely day today.. the staff work so hard and the animals are very well looked after.. I could easily have bought all the cats home with me..the restaurant is totally vegan which is amazing.. well done retreat’┐Į we made a donation as soon as we got home.. keep up the good work.. ’┐Į’┐Į’┐Į’┐Į’┐Į’┐Į
I visited the Retreat for the first time in May, it is a little piece of heaven on earth. Beautiful animals, many of whom have had a very unhappy start in life being so well looked after and cared for. A wonderful happy place so full of love, hope and care. Long may you keep up your wonderful work.
I had the honor and pleasure to be the retreat international guest several years ago. It was my daughter wish to come from far Israel to the UK to see how free beings live. The place is simply a dream to all animal lovers and the staff is caring and loving. Heaven.
I can only wish other places like this existed because if there is something the fills my heart with joy and happiness is - compassion and 100% dedication to it. Thank you friends for doing what you do! LUV U so so much. P.S The food was GREAT! Neil is THE chef of the United Kingdom! <3 <3 <3
Finally made it to an open day at the retreat and what a wonderful place it is too! Run by the most amazing people with such passion for their cause and absolute dedication to the animals they rescue. The whole place had such a lovely atmosphere about it. Thank you for a great afternoon, we hope to visit again very soon.
Came to see the sanctuary on their open day and I absolutely loved it. The staff are amazing and completely dedicated to the animals, itŌĆÖs a very friendly and educational place plus thereŌĆÖs loads of delicious vegan food.
Hearing the stories of how some of the animals came to be there was so emotional, I fell in love with so many of the them and canŌĆÖt wait to come back and visit again next time with treats!

After reading lots about it and following on fb myself and my 8 year old son went there for the first time yesterday. The staff there were so friendly, took us on a tour of the farm so we got to meet the animals and learnt all their history. We even got to bottle feed the latest lot of rescue lambs which was absolutely amazing. My son thoroughly enjoyed it and spent so long chatting to the lady in the cafe , who was so lovely to him. He decided to sponsor a goat called Hannah and we canŌĆÖt wait to come back and see her next week at the open day. Thank you everyone for a lovely day
