Tomorrow night’s quiz is still going ahead, but due to the building work there will be fewer tables available. Please arrive early to get a spot. There will also be a limited menu - our previous kitchen has been demolished! so we are working out of a temporary kitchen. Sorry for any inconvenience, but once complete, we promise it will be worth it!
After years of working in a tiny kitchen I think Ginny is enjoying demolishing it and looking forward to the, bigger and better equipped kitchen!
Project Steamboat update.
Building work is moving along nicely. Old ladies toilets and old kitchen gone! Extension starting soon and new kitchen electrics 1st fix in and new roof on. Watch this space for more progress updates.
Due to the ongoing building works at The Steamboat our kitchen will be closed today. We will be offering a reduced menu from tomorrow until our new kitchen is open. The bar is open as normal. Sorry for any inconvenience.

We just wanted to let you know what will be going on at The Steamboat over the coming months…
We’ve been planning some improvements for a while now and the time has finally arrived for the work to start. We’re extending the inside of the pub, improving and upgrading the toilets (including increasing the number of female loos - hooray!) and installing an accessible toilet. We’re also building a large new commercial kitchen to improve our food offering and extend our food servi...ce times.
Don’t worry - we have no plans to become a trendy gastro, sports or wine bar - we’ll still be the same old Steamboat - only a little bit shinier. Live music will continue to be a regular event at the pub - and we look forward to continuing to welcome an eclectic mix of talent in a slightly bigger space.
We hope to keep the pub open as much as possible during the work, but may need to close for short periods or reduce our food offer whilst the work takes place. We’ll keep you up to date if/when this happens.

We will be open tomorrow morning from 10am for tea, coffee, bacon & sausage rolls! Come and cheer on the runners as they pass the pub at 4.5 miles and again just before 12 miles. Free hot drinks for all race Marshals! Good luck to all those running!

Wonderful old school pub with new ideas. Good food always a fantastic atmosphere, friendly staff greeting with a smile. Music for all almost every weekend, what more could you ask for
Went to the Dodgy Disco last night at my local. It's a lovely old school pub with so much history and brilliant staff plus some unusual regulars......where else would i have found a small gent wearing tie dye ensemble topped off by a pink tutu to dance with! �
Very nice pub for food. Also they have a good real ale beer selection. And not to forget the bands / music which they have on.
Super duper 80s disco last night..fun had by all..whens the next one??
Proper pub, great atmosphere, good selection of beers and ciders, affordable prices, nice scran and snacks, decent variety of live music, and colourful chatty local characters.
No reason to not drink in here.The staff are very friendly and allow customers of all heights and sizes to enjoy a good pinty thing either in side or outside by the waters edge sitting next to the seat beside the old goldmines- where,it is said,gold is still being discovered to this day.
Nice live music venue with a good atmosphere. A little bit out of town, but that’s not always a bad thing.

Had an absolutely fantastic night with Dodgy Disco, good 80's music and a great atmosphere. Bar staff were brilliant. Would definitely go again. Roll on Christmas!

From the moment I walked into The Steamboat I was made to feel welcome (a rarity in most places these days) , superb atmosphere great pint & staff ? What can be said about the staff.....nothing bad that's for sure...
