Would just like to leave a review, Green king you should be proud !!... review is a truthful one...

Tonight we went to The Walkford, Knowing that its been a stressful week for them with their chef jumping ship!

Upon arriving for our booking at 7.30 we was told that there would be a 30-40 min wait for food. Instantly we saw people moaning and asking where their food is, asking for a refund ECT ECT.

I want to add that dining out is so you can enjoy the company your with catching up, dining in an establishment that has the positive attitude and informs you of reasons why the food is slightly delayed shouldn't be a issue in my eyes. I mean even a frozen pre cooked meal takes 30-40 mins ?

The staff done really well and also my families food we received within the allotted time was really nice and the chef should be proud of themselves.

Give this place a try, patients is golden and thank you for a lovely meal. Hats of to the girl waitress too as she was running around continuously

Our pre xmas festive meal, Dec 10th, was great value and the roast potatoes were to die for, just like ones cooked at home. Lovely to have seperate bowls of vegetables to self serve at the table and staff were very attentive on this busy sunday lunchtime. Only downside was the mix up of booked table as requested a window table due to a member of family being partially sighted but this was soon rectified. Will definetly return for another scrummy roast in the New Year ’┐Į

User

Had four meals here recently whilst on holiday in the area and apart from a side salad that was a little limp and some slightly over cooked veg everything else was really lovely! especially loved the lasagne & garlic bread and the delicious little roquito peppers served on the salad. excellent value for money! two good meals for ┬Ż9.99! Dog friendly & staff all friendly! would definitely return!! thank you!

User

Had a meal yesterday and it was lovely and the portions were huge, will definitely be going again.

User

Great pub grub, reasonably priced and quick service with a smile ’┐Į

User

Good food , good pint ( real ale not chilled ), good service !

User

First time back in about 9 years and had a great evening. Warm welcome ... they let us change tables ... we ordered from the offer .. 2 main courses for ┬Ż8.49 and both chose the Chicken Tikka Massala .. and we loved the food, it was tasty and plentiful and beautifully presented.

We had the blackberry and apple crumble pie for dessert and again we loved our puds.

Service is not just friendly but they go out of their way to help and we will be sure to return in the future... many times ... there are so many other choices to sample.

User

The food was good apart from the jam roly poly which was dry and the jam baked on the bottom it didnt even look like jam roly poly it looked the colour of sticky toffee pudding and there was no cream for any of the desserts .....we also had to wait 40 minutes for our food to arrive.... which was a long time considering when we arrived it was not busy at all i must say we dont mind waiting if the place is busy but it wasnt on this occasion !! but the staff were very friendly and helpful

User

We came to the walkford to a skittles event, whilst at the bar we saw Sunday roast dinners coming out which looked nice, we had pre ordered basket meals, very disappointed I thought the chicken I ordered would be chicken breast or leg, not the cheapest chicken nuggets that tasted disgusting, and the chips were hard , couldn't eat any of it , so won't be returning.

User

Went for a meal here yesterday with my sister and niece and it was terrible. Both chose what we wanted to order only to be told at the bar that they didn't have what I wanted so ordered something else....

The meals turned up only to have half the ingredients missing from the main dish and the server brought out chips instead of bread which to I was informed "we have no garlic bread so I substituted". The pasta was under cooked and the chicken over cooked was nasty.

Ordered desserts my nieces turned up with 2 different desserts on the plate (I'm guessing they ran out again) and when I ordered mine the server came over yet again to tell me that they didn't have all the ingredients to make mine... I said to the server they didn't have anything I wanted anyway so why would this matter to which she just smiled and laughed.

We also ordered 2 teas to end with and I had to ask 10 minuets after the cups actually arrived if we're aloud milk with our tea (which was now stone cold)

Then we over heard on the table next to us that in fact they also has no sausages anywhere in the building.

Wouldn't of minded if it was busy but it was quite and it was early Monday evening....

So dissapointed not even an apology from them.... Will certainly not be returning.

User

Turned up last night for a pre booked meal at 7pm to be told there is an hour and a half wait for food!! I've never heard of anyone or anywhere who have had to wait 90 minutes before getting food!! It wasn't like I had just walked in off the street, this was pre-booked! To be told by a member of staff that everyone in the restaurant has ordered food at the same time and that she could take our drink order whilst we wait is a joke. There's taking the p!ss and then there's this!! Walked out and went for a nice meal elsewhere. Shame on you the Walkford, shame on you!!

User

Shocking service as had to wait nearly 2 hours for food that when we complained about the wait they told us firstly that they couldn't tell us how long the wait would be as one of the chefs was on his break. Then a while later they said that they had run out of chips and could only offer 1 chips, and 1 sweet potato fries. The others would have to be French Fries instead. We agreed to this for the fries to come out warm, no chips and the barbecue dip that came with my daughter's meal to come out frozen!!! To add to this the Southern Fried Chicken Wraps had very little chicken in them. (See photo attached) and not sure if there was a problem with catching the prawns in my mother-in-laws sandwich as the were missing.

The chef that was on their break, to add insult to injury sat in the pub eating his McDonalds which proves he has no confidence in the pubs own food!!! Maybe it's because you get the food quicker by travelling to McDonalds to get you food!!!

We know that the manager had gone out to a local boxing event leaving staff that were obviously not qualified to run the business. It took ages for the staff to even apologies for the issues that we brought to their attention and there was no offering of any refund.

My daughter even pointed out the foreign black object within her drink. We couldn't work out where this came from.

After complaining, the lady in the booth next to us said that the bread they had was mouldy and the burger came out black.

The table opposite us had they food thrown across the table by the waitress having waited far too long. This happened as we were leaving and we could only laugh as leaving.

We will never return to this pub.
