Our Business Development Committee work tirelessly to generate club sponsorship to support our activities at all levels and provide improvements for all members. The success of these activities can only be achieved with your help!
The advertising you see around the pitch and clubhouse is paid for by our sponsors. They are happy to continue to support us but, like all of us, need some encouragement to do so. This is where you all come in. If you have an o...pportunity to try one of their services, visit their premises or even just get a quote, it would be really appreciated, if you make them aware that you come from TRFC. This could just be the encouragement they need to part with more of their cash! If they are not competitive, or cannot provide what you are seeking, they completely understand that you will go elsewhere; All they want is the chance to provide what you seek. If a sale is made then please let us know so that we have the information we need to convince them to renew their sponsorship that helps to cover our ever-increasing overheads, develop the club; its facilities and activities and keep subscriptions affordable for all.
As local businesses, they are often keen to support their local community sports clubs so long as the relationship is mutual, and these success stories will also help us to attract even more sponsors and add more revenue to our club. In return for their sponsorship we would like to welcome these sponsors to socialise at the club (helping them to part with even more of their cash across the bar!) so if you see a new face, I know that I can rely on you to treat them in your usual friendly and hospitable way. Furthermore we are constantly looking for additional sponsorship so if you own a company, work for a company or know of a company who are prepared to contribute then we would love to have you on-board and will do all we can to promote your services to our members. Your help in this respect is greatly appreciated.

Dear all
We are looking for 3-4 volunteers this Saturday morning to help Paco complete some more fencing, he has been working tirelessly (well, we all know Paco so that statement is a little exaggerated) between running the gym, getting the new sprinkler to work, watering plants and installing the new fencing. Its an 8am start until about 1-2pm, no real building skills required just some willing legs and arms to follow his instructions. Your help will be much appreciated, hop...efully if we get enough people to help I will ask for help the weekend after that. He is saving the club a large amount of money so just trying to give him a little help.
On another note we the Business Development Committee would like to invite members and guests to a sit down lunch on the 8th September, tickets are £25 per person for a cracking 3 course meal, wine etc. We want to take this opportunity to give you an insight of what we are trying to achieve this year, hear a few words from our Captain and meet our new coach, so please book your spaces, we would love to have a great turn out and watch a great game of winning rugby.

Dear Mr Howells I did send you a message through the contact link on the website but I can't tell if it's been received or not? I was trying to inform the club of the death of my father Peter Murrell fondly known as "Masher" on the pitch on the 1st of July aged 88 . Dad played at Thurrock in the 1950s and early 60s and visited for many years afterwards to continue watching matches and attend Vice President lunches. It's quite possible there isn't anyone there these days wh...o might remember Dad as I know he has outlived may of his peers but rugby was his passion and TRFC was an important part of his life . His funeral is this Tuesday 24th at South Lincs crematorium PE114AA (near Spalding) . We appreciate it's a long way to come and short notice but if anyone did remember Dad and would like to attend on behalf of the club they would be most welcome . In the beginning........ Gravesend was the very first fixture for the then Grays RFC in 1928 after our founder L T Edwards scraped together enough players to form a team. They travelled to Gravesend for this first fixture and, incidentally, won by 2 points. From then on our relationship developed and, before the coming of the leagues, we enjoyed great rivalry, playing each other throughout the club on the same day with 6 or 7 teams. A trophy, a yard of ale, was won by the... club with the largest aggregate score of all the teams, so often it was the 5th or 7th team that had to decide the result, meaning everyone was involved, not just the First team. The original yard of was broken, but its replacement still resides in the original rack in TRFC.

The structure of Thurrock Rugby Football Club and the various sections may be somewhat unknown to many of you an...d we would therefore like to address this by inviting you to join us at a sit-down lunch, prior to our first Men’s XV home league fixture.
During Lunch there will be brief presentations to let you know what each section of the club does and also to highlight some of the key investments that have been made since last season. We would also like to introduce you to our new “Just a Tenner” campaign which we hope will help raise further funds in order to improve our “One Club”!
Be there to hear, first hand, what has and will be going on at TRFC and have the opportunity to have your say on how, by hopefully all pulling together, we can improve our “One Club”!
