Tipi Woods

Self-Directed Education for home educating families in Essex. We have a Democratic Learning Community for children and young people age 5-18 and a Family Forest School for families with children aged 3-18.

Tipi Woods is a collaboration between Kerri Stubley and Lucy Hazell to create a learning community that is free from the constraints of classrooms and timetables. We believe that children should be able to follow their interests and determine their own path, and that, by doing so, their education is richer, more fulfilling and infinitely more relevant to them as individuals.

At Tipi Woods, we aim to establish a culture of mutual respect that allows each child to flourish, whilst also developing a deep understanding of what it means to be part of a democratic community, and the responsibilities and benefits that brings.

Everything we do is on a not-for-profit basis and we will always do our very best to keep costs as low as possible.
