Some of you may already know Sam, but for those who haven't met him yet, introducing...
Dr Samuel Forbes - Senior Research Associate
Sam is a postdoc working with John Spencer, looking at the development of visual working memory in young infants, and how that interacts with various other aspects of development. He takes a particular interest in the role sleep plays in normal development, and how that might affect early brain growth. Sam’s past research looked at early word learning and cognition in infants, with a particular focus on colour word learning and colour perception.

I'm sure many of you will already know Laura, but for those of you that don't, introducing...
Laura Marshall - Project Participant Coordinator
Laura joined the Developmental Dynamics Laboratory team in October 2016 and prior to this worked in education supporting young people with their Maths skills. She works alongside her colleague, Jo, co-ordinating the recruitment of participants into studies and supporting the research staff. "My role varies from day to day, booking participants in for our studies, visiting our research partners and attending big events to promote the studies that we carry out here in the lab. My priority is to make sure our parents and children get the very best experience possible when taking part in our research".

UEA Child Psychology Lab need your help!
We are looking for children under 5 to help us with our child development research studies. At the Developmental Dynamics Laboratory in the School of Psychology at the UEA in Norwich, we research how children think, remember and pay attention to things and how these abilities change in early development. Your child is never too young to register with us & although we might not have a study for you immediately, once you've registered we can notify you as soon as a study comes up that's suitable for your little one. If you would like your child to take part or would like more information, please pm, email child.scientist@uea.ac.uk or call 01603 597376. And please help us by sharing with your friends!

I took my 23mth old son yesterday, the team we met were fantastic working with him and engaging him in the study, even when he decided to play by his own rules to be funny! It was fascinating to see how he responded to the study. Definitely would recommend getting involved.

I have heard super things about this program for child development

Both of my children have an amazing time being scientists! They even get a toy as a thank you for participating �
