About Urban Jungle

We have two Urban Jungle sites, one based in Norfolk, Costessey and the other is in Suffolk, Beccles. Both boast a unique experience with unified qualities such as an indoor jungle cafe, workshops, venue hire and of course our iconic jungle nursery.

Urban Jungle Description

Urban Jungle sells amazing plants in a fabulous setting. Perfect for adding a touch of tropical to your own garden or for larger landscaping and garden design projects.

Hidden amongst the plants is CafƩ Jungle, an eco-freindly, gluten-free oasis.

Saturday Spikes!
Opuntia or Prickly Pears not only look incredible, they taste good too. They produce big yellow flowers and the distinctive juice of the cactus fruit (tunas) can also be used to make thirst-quenching drinks, craft cocktails, sweets, and jellies.

A beautiful new display of house plants in our Cafe featuring Maranta leuconeuras, Dracaenas, Calatheas and Bromeliads.
Green in the colour of growth, renewal and energy - something to give us all a little boost midweek.

Happy Friday from Taela, our wonderful Cafe Superviser / Plant Addict.
Here she is admiring one of the new additions to the Jungle today and it just so happens to be a Guzmania ā€˜Talaā€™ - close enough to be her namesake we think.
The strong, sturdy flowers will light up any room - just like the lady herself! šŸ’š

Pumpkins have arrived in the Norfolk Jungle...
Small, medium, large, ā€™monstersā€™ and white and warty ones too!
All hand sown, and grown locally using organic manure - these beauties are all completely unique and produced with lots and lots of love. And weā€™re so happy to support our local farmer.
... They donā€™t look half-bad bathed in the autumn sun either...

Went for the first time today with a friend - absolutely loved it! Good choice of Wilkinson's tea, and had a slice of apple crumble cake which was divine! Didn't have lunch but it smelled delicious. Staff were super friendly and the entire experience was charming. Will be visiting again soon :)

User

We had a lovely afternoon mooching about. The guys running the cafe were SO nice and helpful and the food was great ļæ½ Thanks ļæ½

User

Visited today and loved it. Some very unusual plants and the lady I spoke to was very knowledgeable. Didn't have time to look round the whole place but will definitely be back

User

Visited for the first time yesterday. Had coffee and toasted sandwich in the cafe. Coffee was lovely and a great toastie. Staff really friendly. Great selection of plants which you have to wander round the different sections to find. Not like a normal garden centre but it's meant to be different. We bought a palm tree and the staff member who helped us get it in the car was so helpful and knowledgable. They don't mind spending time to talk and advise you. Will definitely return.

User

The best cafe ever! High tea for three after a trip to Horsey Seals. A perfect Sunday in a perfect setting (Urban Jungle), wonderful company (my fam) and fresh, home made sandwiches and cakes with unlimited tea and coffee. Whatā€™s not to like?

I loved the ambiance, the environment, the limited covers, the snugs and sofas, the fish, the šŸŒµ

Just go and see for yourself, you wonā€™t be disappointed. Apparently thereā€™s a dog called Luna too whoā€™s adorable and the kids love. Iā€™ll meet her next time I hope šŸ‘

User

Return visit, a lot of work been done over the winter. Love going there. Had delicious sandwich lunch. Great improvement with the new car park, as long as people park sensibly!

User

Bit muddy and the outside plant areas are a little bit higgledy-piggledy but the cafe was great. A huge selection of house plants which was the main reason we visited. Would defiantly visit again!

User

Absolutely amazing place. Lived in Norfolk for 14yrs and didnā€™t know it existed! What a find. Fabulous for a little wonder round, could of easily come home with a lorry load of stunning plants! Stopped for lunch too, which was very tasty. We shall be frequent visitors to this little gem.

User

Visited yesterday with 4 friends for lunch. (A bit on the pricey side but what isnt these days!). We all had quiche and it was lovely. Yes we had a wait but the teas came resonably quickly. I dont mind waiting if food is good and we all had the time which made the outing a pleasurable time.

The staff have always been polite and helpful and they were very busy as part of the cafe was shut off due to application of bubble wrap to help keep it warmer in the coming months.

My husband and I have bought many plants over the years. Not cheap but good quality. Will definately visit again.

User

The cafe is an interesting place, love the mix of colourful cushions on worn sofas and the backdrop of lush green plants. The cheese toasties we ate were delicious although the 2 salad leaves accompanying them were a bit disappointing compared to the salads photos online from previous customers who ordered the toasties received. There was a really different feel from a garden centre which I enjoyed but I couldn't see anything to help carry plants which limited what we bought and some things we were interested in didn't have prices on. Loved the interior design of the compost loo too!

User

Lovely unique tucked away gem. Its not polished but it is a rural independent garden centre so you should forgive any niggles. Overall we enjoyed the centre and the cafe as being unique and different. We got what we wanted: a Fiddleleaf Fig plant and a coffee & cake!

User

Love this place. Went yesterday with a friend over from Jordan and she loved it too! I've been coming here on and off for the last three years. Four Plants bought here two years ago are thriving - even in containers - and often get complimented especially the dwarf chusan palm. New car park at the front is an improvement. Love the coffee choices and new cafetiĆØres keeping the coffee hot. Lemon and ginger cake was light and tasty. Bought a beautiful fern - polystichum setiferum - to add to my collection of container plants. Just love all the exotic plants and jungle environment, the koi pond and lovely staff. Will rate you 5 stars when the new toilet facilities are available.

User

Went for lunch, it was okay but not overly impressed, certainly not enough to go again. Not much choice for children, and the menu was heavy on the cheese front and not much else. Overly priced for what it was... food order wrong also.

User

We went to visit today and was lovely walking around and looking at everything and our 2 children enjoyed walking around the jungle they said ļæ½

But, twe went to the cafe for lunch but I was very disappointed that there was no where for us to wash our hands, then my 3 year old needed to use the toilet and she had to go in a port a loo in the middle of a car park that smelled and wasnt clean and yet again had no where to wash our hands and then I had to change my other daughters nappy in the boot of my car as there wasnā€™t any where for me to do that either so I wasnā€™t very impressed!

User

Visited yesterday it's very nice, lovely cakes, But not impressed with the toilet facilities, for the amount of people that visit it is very poor, puts people off revisiting, needs sorting,

User

The facilities for parking could be better as the ground was uneven and extremely muddy, with the parking area being very small also.

The place looked messy in areas and somewhat neglected- as did many of the products on sale.

I was very surprised at the prices being very high, with the quality of the products being poor- I did not buy anything for that reason.

There could of been more information laid out in regards to the plants etc on sale.

User

The ambiance of the cafe was amazing. Very relaxing and cosy little seated areas. The cafe was over priced for the portions and the wait was ridiculous.

The actual garden center has some amazing tropical plants to admire.

Would go again but not to eat as I didnā€™t feel I got value for money.

User

Not what I expected at all, some lovely cactus plants in one of the tunnels but overall not worth the travel! And couldn't of stayed in the heat of the cafe ļæ½

User

Having seen photos on Instagram and elsewhere of a clean, well kept garden centre I went with certain expectations. Unfortunately, the reality wasn't the same as the images I had seen online.

As you drive down the site doesn't look very well cared for almost put me off staying, however there is nowhere to turn round or park up close to the entrance.

I was disappointed with the parking, felt restricted and small for somewhere that is quite popular. Very muddy which is fair enough as you can't help the weather....however I felt that there are other things that could be done to level out the ground. Even a piece of wood to cover the muddy area would potentially help.

I went with the intention of buying a lot of succulents and cacti...however after seeing the prices I was put off.

Tried to look out for a member of staff but couldn't find one.

Visited yesterday it's very nice, lovely cakes, But not impressed with the toilet facilities, for the amount of people that visit it is very poor, puts people off revisiting, needs sorting,

Not what I expected at all, some lovely cactus plants in one of the tunnels but overall not worth the travel! And couldn't of stayed in the heat of the cafe ļæ½
