Seven years ago! The first wedding I organised as an independent wedding planner and the start of Vintage Style Hire. They wanted everything to look like a scene from Robin Hood! It was amazing, I didn’t want it to end. #lovewhatyoudo

Did you know we have a shop? If you’ve landed here you might like to visit Vintage Style Living So many people asked if they could buy things they hired, so I thought, why not!
I’m sharing this from my lovely friend, one small business to another.
Ive bought some gorgeous things for our house from An Artful Life as I’m mixing more contemporary pieces with vintage homeware.
... I hope you can visit the shop soon, if you’re travelling from further afield, let me know and I’ll put the coffee on. You might also like to visit our barn as we are selling off some furniture and props, businesses welcome.

Treat yourself to a special weekend. This part of France is truly stunning.

I started Vintage Style Hire back in 2011 when styling weddings and events with vintage furniture was pretty unheard of. Now there are hundreds of companies and what we started back then, still seems relevant today.
The company that inspired me was Found Vintage Rentals I was a wedding planner at the time and looking for inspiration for the weddings I planned. I looked at a lot of blogs, most in the US. Blogs like Love My Dress and Rock My Wedding were just starting out too!... The weddings that always stood out featured Found Rental furniture.
I started to enjoy styling the weddings more than planning them, so one day thought what could I hire? So I walked round our house making an inventory of all our furniture that might work in a wedding and gave the company a name! Everyone thought I was mad! It was a slow process, one wedding planner even said to me “none of my brides would hire your furniture!” A while later they did!
We’re in California on holiday. A lovely house swap with a friend. I couldn’t come all this way and not visit, so I subjected the boys to a two hour drive to visit their shop, they’ve opened a shop too now. I spoke to the lovely sales assistant and told her why we were visiting and she said they would be happy to show us around Found Rentals! My heart skipped a beat! My husband explained it to the boys “it’s like Elvis fans visiting Graceland!”
It was rather emotional as we were shown around, seeing all the pieces I had seen in many photo shoots and weddings. I won’t lie, I shed a tear when we left! Thank you Found Rentals for the tour, thank you for inspiring me to start a business I’ve loved.
