Engine change project continues, Simon seen here undressing the old number two engine.
i remember this delta lady at airshows in the 80's and really doing well in keeping her a living breathing gentle giant all these years i never knew she was an ex 617 squadron airframe please keep her alive
You must do the cockpit tour. Arrive early as they are popular and limited numbers.
You do a great job of keeping this Avro Legend well maintained and it's services and systems alive.
Kept outside and well preserved you guys need more public awareness and funding. Keep up the good work!
Wonderful group of people working hard to keep this plane in a great condition. A part of modern history for people to see in the future...
What the Vulcan restoration trust are doing with XL426 is no easy task and they are doing it very well. This Vulcan is in fantastic shape.
What a superb day out, fair prices for both viewing the aircraft and at the Lancaster cafe (food was very good too). Helpful knowledgable volunteers, very friendly and a great atmosphere overall. Keep up the good work and thank you for helping make a great Father's Day
What a great way to spend a few hours, admiring an icon from the Cold War and chatting to the VRT volunteers who give up their time to keep XL426 in such good order. Thoroughly recommended.
Well worth a visit and get to see the cockpit and back cockpit too some thing 558 does not have anymore a great visit for the family
VRT are a band of keen, dedicated and enthusiastic people who are passionate about XL426.
This aircraft is well worth a visit at the rare open days that they have and her recent relocation to Hangar 6 can only be a good thing for this superb example of British Engineering!
Our visit to the Visit the Vulcan event the other week was thoroughly enjoyable:- The staff were very welcoming and friendy and the Cockpit tour was fascinating!
The engineers are dedicated to returning XL426 to taxing condition but to do this requires the necessary funds, please join the Trust, it's not a lot of money!
Superb. Nice to see a proper bit of British history being looked after so well, proud to be members of the VRT
Super afternoon spent with XL426 can't wait til the next open day
Phil and I had a wonderful visit toXL426 today, we were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived at the car park, what wonderful people getting on with things and obviously enjoying every minute of it, very organised and nothing to much trouble.
Can’t wait to go again.
Like these new look open days based at Hanger 6. I suspect we may be able to look forward to even bigger and better events as the years go by.
Is was very nice and very good meet new friends and the Vulcan open aswell can't wait for the next one's now
I've seen the Vulcan several times in the air and on the ground. It remains one of the most iconic sights and sounds of British aviation. Long may it fly!
I think it would be great if XL426 could be made air worthy and fly with XH558
Great piece of British engineering heritage which needs the support of the local community. Open days are a great opportunity for children to see history up close and personal, along with the crew that support her continued existence they need you and I. Come along and see XL426
Can anyone help me find my cousin, Michael miles, known as Mac or max, who was an engineer on vulcans in the sixties. Grateful for any help.
