We had some special visitors staying overnight at Watford Central Library for a Big Teddy Sleepover (part of the Pyjamarama events)
Unfortunately we experienced technical issues with the live streaming but lots of photos were taken. It looks like lots of fun was had during the special visitors' mini adventure.
The teddy bears are now waiting to be collected by their owners from the Enquiry Desk at Watford Central Library.

It’s not too late to send your teddy on the Big Teddy Sleepover. Come down before 4pm today and tuck your teddy up for the night.

Our Chatterbooks group had fun making their own Chosen by Chatterbooks display in today's session.
Keep an eye out for when the new Chatterbooks registration opens in August, for children aged 8-12. New sessions start in October.

It is volunteers' week from 1st to 7th June. We have wonderful volunteers who help us at Watford Central Library. Selecting and delivering books for our Home Library Service. Assisting other customers with their IT Queries. Helping at our Baby Rhyme Time on Thursdays.... Reading hacks (teenagers) who help with shelving, tidying and listening to younger children read after school and at weekends. AND We start our Summer Reading Challenge on the 13th July 2019 and are looking for Volunteers. Last year’s volunteers where truly amazing and had fun as well. The volunteers will be on a rota of 12 hours minimum (2hrs per week!) over the 6 weeks summer holiday to help staff run the Challenge. (We are flexible around the volunteers own holidays). The duties will include:- Joining children to the challenge and explaining the process. Listening to the children talk about their books and giving out the stickers. Recording their time and much more. We hope last year’s volunteers will be happy to come back and we will need more. The staff at @WatfordCentralLibrary send out a great big thank you to all of our visitors last month. Because of you, we recorded our highest visitor count for the past 12 months with 20,026 visits in May. You are all stars in our book
