Went for dinner at this pub with all my family and we all ordered something different & every single one our meals was lovely. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Will definitely be going there again.
I usually only eat in 7* restaurants in Mayfair but I thought I would try this nice little pub in Welling and I was blown away by how amazing the food was. Better than anywhere I have ever been before. The chef was so lovely and brought me out some coleslaw (as she had forgotten to put it on my plate), I think her name was Bernie or something? She was very short and well mannered! I've never met such a polite person in all my life. I'd love to put her in my pocket and take her home, but I didn't because that would be illegal. She made me and my husband some amazing calamari and a real decent lasagne! So, thanks Bernie, we really appreciate everything you did for us last weekend! If you fancy a job as a personal chef send me a personal message on Facebook haha x
Been coming to this pub for quite a while and never had a bad experience. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Food is always delicious. Always made to feel welcome. Highly recommend
Went there with five mates for a bite and a nice drink up. Despite some of the previous comments found the staff friendly and accommodating. Had a chat with Bonnie who had a lovely personality and was a great chef as well. Food was excellent. Only criticism ran out of pino. Forty years ago it was my regular and had a great atmosphere there. Always full of local people and everyone was welcomed. Seen a few changes there. Good luck with the new team there.
Having read a few reviews nearly didn't go but thought I need to experience it first hand. Went for an impromptu meal with my family so didn't book - and actually was pleasantly surprised. food was pretty good (batter on fish was a bit over cooked) but everything else was fine - even my fussy kids liked it. Desserts were great and large (bonus) for those who have a sweet tooth) and service was friendly with staff very helpful and accommodating. Proves you sometimes need to see for yourself. I'd give it a 7/10 and would consider going again for sure!
We we was there Sunday booked a table for 9 at 3:30 we ordered food my daughter and granddaughter ordered roast beef to be told they had ran out (that was fine) so said chicken it comes up with mash no roast potatoes when we asked we was told not sure if it comes with Roast (wtf) well yes it should
They then said they were running short so didnโt give us them gave extra mash. So we said no.
They then went to fry jacket potatoes
What an awful experience this was really not happy as not a cheap dinner.
Was there tonight for what was suposed to be a nice family meal for my nieces birthday.....our meal was booked 3 weeks in advance for 25 So they were aware that a big booking was in!!....what a disaster..after waiting over an hour- hour and a half some food come out... But orders were wrong.., things missing and food poorly cooked and tasted shit!!....only a handful got food and the rest didn't even get there's as the chef apparently couldn't cope and was having breakdown!!!!...absolutely disgusting!!!... The place wasn't even clean... The toilets are despicable!!...and the staff have a bad attitude problem and are dam right rude!!!...place needs condemning!!!!!...
The only good thing about this pub is the garden. The staff look through you or just walk past, invisable me ah! I have eaten here once and it was awful, it was a party of at least ten, we all had complaints. My steak was unchewable and barely cooked at all. I would recommend new staff and visable management with chefs that know what a kitchen does along with thorough training.
I do go there often just cos it's very close to home if we only want one drink , it's boring staff are to happy and never that busy for such a big pub with lovely gardan should have so much more goin on more so on hot days there's nothing for the kids boring ... food not great .
