There aren't many birds that are more eye-catching than the Red Bishop

There are few more eye-catching birds than the Red Bishop.

I did consider trying to more that wee branch in front of his face but thought better of it. no-one else volunteered either. A fine looking male lion in the Greater Kalahari, Botswana.

If you like birds, then Kwa Zulu Natal is the place to go. Great value too.

Approximately 300,000 zebras move along the same route as the wildebeest migration between Tanzania & Kenya but there is another zebra migration that takes place in central and northern Botswana as around 20,000 zebras move with the rain between the grasslands of the Makgadikgadi Salt Pan in the Kalahari Desert and the Boteti River or Okavango Delta. . The coasts of Western Cape, South Africa are a great place to see migrating whales as they swim very close to the shore between mid July and October each year. . As well as being able to take whale watching trips by boat, these massive marine mammals often come close enough to be seen clearly from the shore, especially at Hermanus in Western Cape. .
