1000 Words is a leading online contemporary photography magazine.

1000 Words is a quarterly online magazine dedicated to the critical engagement with contemporary photography in the UK and beyond. It commissions and publishes in-depth exhibition and photobook reviews, essays, interviews and multimedia in response to carefully selected imagery, often around a particular theme. Founded by Tim Clark in 2008, the editorial commitment has always been to explore the limits and possibilities of the medium whilst stimulating debate around its current practices and discourses. Having recently released its 24th issue, it attracts approximately 140, 000 unique visitors from more than 120 countries every month. 1000 Words has over 38, 000 Twitter followers, 11, 000 Facebook likes and a newsletter that is dispatched to more than 20, 000 recipients. It was nominated as Photography Magazine of the Year at the Lucie Awards in 2014 and 2016.
