The Easter break saw 5 of 1119s cadets spending 5 days in Snowdonia. With one cadet undertaking training for a planned expedition to Switzerland later this year, and 4 completing their Gold DofE expedition.
All 4 members of the squadrons Gold DofE team completed their expedition 😊
All saw fantastic weather and amazing views as they trekked around such a beautiful part of Wales. The cadets even got a surprise visit from Commandant Air Cadets as she visited Snowdonia to train f...or the upcoming Switzerland trip!
Well done all!

1119 is Recruiting Cadets and Staff! Read this information and get in touch!!

User

Please read the following information and get in touch by emailing adj.1119@aircadets.org
Join as a cadet So, are you ready to take the first step towards all the opportunities and benefits that the air cadets can offer you?
... It's important to know that we're not a recruiting organisation for the Services (but it's great if you decide you want to join later on). We're not interested in anything but you and your potential, and will help you get the most from your experience as a cadet.
Worried about fitting in? Equality is a central part of the Air Cadets’ ethic. The cadet experience is open to everyone, so whatever your nationality, background or ability, whether you're male or female, if you're between 13, or at age 12 when beginning school year 8 (England & Wales) 17 years old you can join us.
The maximum age for entry is 17 years old, therefore you can request to join us anytime between your 12th (and in year 8) and 17th birthday. If you are above that age group and still want to enjoy all of our activities and more, you could join as a volunteer. Find out more Email adj.1119@aircadets.org
What's in it for you? Aside from flying, sports, target shooting, adventure training and great fun? You’ll soon find that being an air cadet is its own reward - you constantly see the benefits of your own efforts, building on your achievements and earning BTECs and DoE Awards. You'll be expected to take part in as many of the activities we run as possible, but with what's on offer you won't need much persuading!
We have high standards to maintain as we are a 'military' youth organisation and you'll naturally take pride in your uniform (we supply that) and appearance. You'll be well mannered and self-disciplined. You'll be joining an organisation of which you’ll be very proud.

Tonight is our New Recruit Evening has a read of the information in the event and pop and email to adj.1119@aircadets.org to confirm attendance
Don’t worry if you can’t make it, pop us an email or a message anyway and we can arrange for you to pop in and see us separately!
The Squadron also has a band; if there’s any budding young musicians that would be keen to develop their music further alongside all the other fantastic opportunities and activities on offer be sure to come along!

This evening we have been supporting the Royal Air Force Football Team with cadets from across West Mercian Wing ATC; as they took on the Royal Navy at Shrewsbury Town in the Inter-Services Cup Game!
The RAF were superb and after going 1 nil down in the first 10 mins fought back immediately to equalise and go on to win 4-1!!!
The Squadron Band also performed as well before and at half time to provide some entertainment to the supporters present at the game! And did a fantas...tic job!!

Fantastic day with West Mercian Wing ATC today at the Wales & West Air Cadets Junior Netball and U14 Boys 5-a-side competitions! We had Cdt Underwood in the Netball team and Cdts Ward, Bowen, Whicker and Hamilton-Taylor in the 5-a-side team!
Both teams were exceptional both winning overall and bringing home the trophies unbeaten all day! And the boys not conceding a single goal!!
Regional Commandant Wales and the West even photobombed the wing photo at the end!!

Busy Sunday this weekend!
Unfortunately due to the weather flying was cancelled with 8 AEF; but we had two other events too!
The CO spent the day at the West Mercian Wing ATC Commanding Officer’s Annual Conference; with some engaging topics throughout the day!
... And a Big Well Done to the Girls 5aSide team who today won the West Mercian Wing Inter-Squadron 5-a-Side tournament! Bringing home the gold medals 🏅 just a week after the Under 14 Boys did the same!
Well done to Cdt Maxwell and Sgt Thomas who were selected for the Wing Team and FS Jones who was selected as a non-travelling Reserve!
