Deeply saddened to her of the passing of the truly incredible Mary Ellis.
She was a true inspiration to many and will be sorely missed.
Rest In Peace, Mary.

A number of personnel from 1130 (Wrekin) Squadron helped form part of the SWAT team (Special Work And Tasking) in aid of the Royal Air Force Charitable Trust.
OC 1130 commanded the SWAT team at RAF Fairford from 4th - 20th July 2018 to help build and take down The Royal International Air Tattoo alongside the highly skilled and committed site team known as the Rangers!
Below is just a small snapshot of all the amazing opportunities we were privileged to enjoy along with some ...action shots of the many jobs we undertake!
As OC SWAT, I could not be prouder of my team, how they all gelled and worked tirelessly to ensure RIAT was ready for the general public to enjoy the International celebration of #RAF100.

It was Sunday 10th June when over 60,000 people descended on RAF Cosford for the annual RAF Cosford Air Show (Official).
One of the many Air Cadets present was Cdt FS Alexis Verity who attended in her role as Station Commander’s Cadet for RAF Cosford. She was exemplary in her conduct and role in supporting the Station Commander and the Station.
Cdt FS Verity added that ‘to be apart of such an exceptional event meeting such amazing people was something I never thought I’d be... able to do. Also being able to support the station commander this year on the 80th anniversary of Cosford and the 100th anniversary of the RAF, it is such an honour for me and has really shown me that cadets can open you up to such amazing opportunities!’
Well done Alexis. You are an inspiration to everyone around you! Keep up the great work!

Congratulations to AC William Lake who recently was invited to the Gardens of Buckingham Palace to receive his Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award that he achieved during his time with 1130 (Wrekin) Squadron! He was lucky enough to receive his award alongside 11 other personnel (some of whom are photographed below) from West Mercian Wing ATC.
Well done Will! Looking forward to seeing you on the Squadron again in the near future!

In her first public engagement as Station Commander’s Cadet of RAF Cosford, Cdt FS Alexis Verity supported the Station Commander Group Captain Tone Baker as the Station received the Freedom of the City of Birmingham!
A monumental event and honour for RAF Cosford and we know that Cdt FS Verity was delighted to be able to assist!
Well Done Flight Sergeant! Keep up the good work!

Cadets & Staff of 1130 (Wrekin) Squadron ATC along with 265 Chetwynd Sqn ATC & 187 City of Worcester Air Training Corps have completed the Dambusters Miles walking over 20 miles between the times of 2137-0615hrs (exactly 75 years to the minute that the Dambusters Raid took place).
During the course of the night, a minutes silence was observed individually for all of the 8 aircraft that sadly did not make it back to Scampton, making the event a very powerful and poignant reme...mbrance event for all who took part.
The last aircraft returned to RAF Scampton at 0615hrs, the exact time our two teams representing King & Charlie aircraft crossed the finish line together in the formation of a Lancaster.
Well done and congratulations to you all on your efforts and part in helping raise over £40,000 for the RAF Benevolent Fund.

Here he is getting ready to depart for the flight he has been so patiently waiting for!!

Many congratulations to the winning team of Wednesday’s fiercely fought cricket competition!
Both teams batted valiantly but in the end there can only be one victor!!
Not only did we play cricket but the cadets also spent some time preparing their uniforms for an upcoming inspection which perfectly blends productivity with guilt free fun!
