1228 Louth Air Cadets

Cadet Ben Robinson has made us immensely proud, winning an array of medals throughout the air cadet athletic championships. He’s SO good, he’s been selected to represent the Central & East Region in the 100m sprint. Well done Ben, we’re so proud of you!

Superstar Cpl Conor Philips was recently selected to represented the Air Training Corps at the Inter Services Clay Target Championships - competing against other cadet organisations such as the Combined Cadet Force and Sea Cadets. The Air Cadets were the overall winners, with Cpl Philips an indispensable component of that team. Congrats Cpl Dead Eye!!

Cadets from 1228 Sqn ATC, today attended the 101 RAF Squadron Memorial Association service and parade at Ludford. The cadets where praised by members of 101 Squadron RAF and by members of the 101 Association, for their smart turn out and excellent manners, so well done to them. The church service was followed by a short service at the 101 Memorial on the main road and the event was completed with a triple fly past of the Lancaster from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.

Today two Cadets from Louth Air Cadets took to the air as part of the RAF Air Cadets Air experience scheme. The cadets flew in Grob Tutors at RAF Cranwell. As part of the 25 minute flight they took control of the aircraft and were taught simple moves. Cadets and Staff from 1228 Sqn attended a memorial service at the old WWII RAF Kelstern airfield this morning for the 625 Squadron association. It was attended by quite a few association members who are mostly relatives of past 625 Squadron airmen, airwomen and officers. It was also attended by one actual ex officer of 625 who presented one of our cadets with their 625 Endeavour award and who is now nearly 98 years old and still an interesting gentleman to listen to!. This was followed by a buffet that 1228 Sqn had organised and laid on for them, at our HQ. Here are some photos of the memorial service at the old airfield.

Cadets from 1228 (Louth ) Air Cadets competed in the Trent Wing athletics event. The cadets took part on both track and field events. The Squadron came away with a gold and silver. Good luck to Sgt Whitworth and Cdt Robinson as they now go forward to represent the Wing at the Regional event.
