1368 Warwick And Royal Leamington Spa Air Cadets

Staff from 1368 Squadron are up in the Peak District this weekend completing their Lowland Leader Award. This will allow them to run Adventurous Training activities and the Duke of Edinburgh's Award back on Squadron.

1368 Squadron placed first in 3 out of 5 events at Wing Cross Country today. This fantastic result is as a result of weeks of training and demonstrates the hard-work, commitment and determination of the cadets.

SUMMER CAMP
Cadets from the Squadron recently went on Summer Camp to RAF Conningsby where they got a tour round 29 Squadron.

RAF100 CELEBRATIONS
Yesterday was the RAF100 Parade in London. Cadets from around the Corp had the opportunity to go watch the parade and enjoy the RAF's 100th Birthday Celebration. We would like to thank our parent service, the Royal Air Force, for hosting such a wonderful parade and flypast.

FLYING AT TAYSIDE
Recently one of our cadets spent two weeks at Tayside Aviation on the Royal Air Force Air Cadets Pilot Scholarship. Although she wasn't able to go solo on this occasion, getting 12 hours towards a PPL and experience in a light aircraft is an amazing achievement. We look forward to two more of our cadets getting the same experience later in the year

REGIONAL ATHLETICS
Well done to three cadets from the Wing who competed in the Central and East Regional Athletics competition. Special congratulations to Cdt Hansen who came 4th in his event.

KENILWORTH SHOW
On Saturday, a group of cadets and staff helped out at the Kenilworth Show. Their duties involved helping the Main Arena and selling programmes at the entrance. Thanks to the organisers for letting us help out at this duty and support local agriculture.

AEF
This week two cadets from the Sqn were lucky enough to fly in the Grob Tutor. It was the first time for both CDT Fry and Walden. The weather was even good enough for them to experience aerobatics

NAPTON HORSE SHOW
On Saturday cadets and staff from the Sqn volunteered at Napton Horse Show. Duties included helping set up the jumps and delivering information to the officials. The Sqn attends this event every year and it is something the cadets love helping out at.

Well done to our CWO from 1368 who represented the Region at the competition last weekend.

WING ATHLETICS
Yesterday a strong team of cadets competed in the Wing Athletics Competition. Everyone did really well in their events, making finals and getting medals. Special well done to the senior girls relay team who came 1st and to one of our Sgt's who won all three of his events.
The senior girls team managed to repeat last year's performance by winning the Senior Girls Trophy again!

RUGBY AT CRANWELL
Congratulations to Cadet Hansen who represented Central and East in the Inter-Region Rugby competition. The team won all their matches and were crowned winners

OUTGOING LORD LIEUTENANT CADET
Tonight CWO Yew-Booth finished her duties as the RAFAC Lord Lieutenant's Cadet for Warwickshire. The ceremony was held at the Council Chambers at Shire Hall. CWO Yew-Booth has enjoyed the last 12 months attending events with Staff Sgt Ceri Abbit (ACF) and the Lord Lieutenant, Mr Tim Cox, and she has particularly enjoyed the Warwick Poppy Appeal Launch and Warwickshire Police Awards. Replacing her in the role is FS Eaves from 121 (Nuneaton)

We are very pleased to announce that Cadet Warrant Officer Carina Yew-Booth has been selected to represent Central and East Region for the best female Cadet in the ATC75 Sword competition held annually at RAF Cranwell. What a superb achievement for her, the Squadron and Wing.
