Remember our next intake is Thursday 16th May at 7pm. All we ask for potential cadets is that they are in year 8, over 12 years old and willing to have some fun! We are also on the look out for more adult volunteers to help with the running of the Squadron. You can also join in with all the fun! Email oc.171@aircadets.org for more information

Tonight we had a visit from Grp Cpt Eddie Cole, the Regional Commandant for the South West. He was accompanied by the Regional Warrant Officer and the Assistant Regional Commandant.
They were reviewing the sqn to compete for a place in the national and final stage for the best Sqn of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets! (For the second year in a row!!!!) We were Dorset & Wiltshire's representitive.
The cadets performed extremley well and the visit was very positive! Now fingers ...and toes are crossed that we have been successful to have a visit from Commandant Air Cadets in the final stage of the competition!

Very busy Easter weekend at the Sqn. Several cadets attended a Cadet Development Course aimed to set them on the right path towards one day becoming a member of the JNCO team.
Several staff, cadets and parents attended the Sqn to help clean and prepare the premises for the Lees Inspection on Thursday. We have been nominated as best small squadron in Dorset & Wiltshire for the second year in a row. The Regional Commandant will visit us to see if we can go through to the national stage.
We also recieved deliver of brand spanking new Resus Annies. We can now deliver up to bronze standard first aid training on Sqn!

Today saw the Test flight of CI Sheldons Maule in challenging gusty conditions as we start our preparations to start taking cadets to teach them how to fly RC fixed wing aircraft, i think it's safe to say he was happy with the landing, even the horses approved.

We are happy to announce we are now an Affiliated club as a youth group with BMFA. This means we can now start teaching cadets how to fly RC Model aircraft, we will be concentrating on Fixed Wing and aiming to take our cadets to the level where they can take and pass their BMFA 'A' ticket. #whatwedo #BMFA Achievement Scheme

So what did you do with your day? Today 2 of our Mountain Bike leaders took cadets out and about on single track trails around Moors Valley, they rode 15 miles in all. Some of the cadets were loaned bikes which are owned by Dorset & Wilts Wing - Air Cadets to allow those who dont have mountain bikes to be able to participate and get a taste of the trails, thanks Wing HQ.
