Unfortunately we have no live music tonight due to a cancellation.
However, next week we shall resume with the wonderfully talented Keith Mitchell!
Introducing: Hop House 13
A delicious double-hopped lager, brewed with Irish barley and aromatic hops and continues Guinness's 256 years of heritage and brewing excellence at St. James's Gate, Dublin.
It's a crisp and full-flavoured lager with subtle malty notes and fresh hop aromas with hints of Apricot and Peach. If you like to try new and interesting lagers, then Hop House 13 offers more character, flavour and taste
Introducing: Barolo Antario, Italy. A deep ruby red with a bouquet of violet, spices and pepper. Great depth of character on the palate with classic damson fruit flavours and a good amount of spice.

The Feast of St. James!
James was one of the twelve apostles of Jesus. Following the ascension of Jesus, the apostles traveled spreading the word of the gospel. James' travels took him to Spain.
James went back to Jerusalem in 44AD, as Mary had wished. During the trip back he visited Mary in Ephesus. Mary predicted his death in Jerusalem, and on his return to Jerusalem, he was soon taken prisoner.
... He was taken to Calvary, the same place where years before Jesus had been crucified. He was then tied to the rocks, blindfolded and beheaded.
The body of James was taken by his disciples back to Galicia. His remains are said to be buried in the cathedral in Galicia.
Popularised in the ninth century, many pilgrims from across Europe, walk the "Camino de Santiago" (way of St. James) which leads them to the saint's tomb, to ask pardon for their sins.
Today, pilgrims still arrive at the Cathedral for the holy Feast Day of St James. On the eve of the Feast day, a spectacular show of fireworks, music and lasers illuminate the cathedral.

Why are we called 1725?
Our historic name dates back to when when the building gained its alcohol license and became a freehold pub!
This was known as its formerly famous name 'The Blue Anchor' when the licensee was Robert Armstrong.
... A very unique feature of The Blue Anchor, was the bar was made of a boat that was a scaled-down replica of the hull of the Lancaster privateer 'Thetis' which under Captain John Charnley fought off an attach by the much larger French warship 'Bonaparte' off Barbados in 1804.
