We visited for the first time a couple of months back and from start to finish we felt welcome and the food was amazing. It was lovely to be able to look at a menu and be able to eat anything from it. Food was well presented and tasted beautiful. Thank you �

Me and my partner showed up late, in a snowstorm, with no one else arriving and were treated so well and to amazing food! Everything is so delicious and really reasonably priced and the staff are incredibly friendly (even lending me a phone charger!). Can’t recommend more highly

It was busy as it was Mothers Day but our waitress was calm and always had a smile. The food was amazing. So good. We all enjoyed it. Me, the veggie, my eldest son, the vegan and my youngest, the meat eater.

Delicious dishes and great balanced menu for veggies and vegans alike. Cocktails had brill flavour combinations and the restaurant has a lovely boutique feel about it.

We went to eat last night , the menu was great , the food was lovely , very very nice . I was full having a starter a main and a dessert . I have been before and it was great then too . The bill was almost £100 for 3 of us but then I guess you pay for the service and quality of the food and it’s worth it compared to many other restaurants.We also had drinks and cocktails in that bill . I will be looking forward to going again . Recommended highly.

We booked the meal for 2.30pm when we arrived we are asked whether we wanted to sit downstairs or up so we told them upstairs there were two other dining parties upstairs really nice atmosphere I would suspect if it was busy on that day but as it was Sunday it was really quiet.



Our servers were very pleasant and helpful.



We had tofu scallops, Duck egg, chips, olives, roasted cauliflower with mango and a Almond cake to share the meal was very expensive for what it was but it was very nice.



I would recommend but be prepared to pay!

Visited 1847 whilst at an exhibition at the NEC and a colleague was a vegetarian and wanted to go out to eat. The restaurant was pleasant and very simply decorated. We were served water in a ramikin glass which was funny but the food was great. I had the halomi which was battered and deep fried, served with a green pea smear and a lemon curdy type sauce. It was very tasty. My colleague had a dish which was like tiny balls of gnocchi with a ricotta sauce and it was delicious. I finish with rice doughnuts with coconut sauce and poached pears which was really lovely. All in all it was a nice experience and I would go again. If your not a vegetarian then give it a go, it really will surprise you.

Lovely restaurant, fabulous food and great staff. The only thing that let the evening down was the Birmingham Cocktail Festival. 1847 was part of it and it turned into a rowdy pub atmosphere with a few drunken, very loud people which made the restaurant very loud and ruined the ambiance completely. Staff were very obliging and moved us upstairs, but next year think they should either no be part of it or take it outside as it is a restaurant not a bat.

Food is a bloody delight and was presented perfectly, absolutely delicious and hands down on a par with the vegan food I've eaten in places like Aus and Bali.

The food was great but I was very disappointed with the service. Had to wait a long time to be asked if we wanted a drink and then ages for food. Asked for gin and they had to run out to the shop to buy some. (Lovely that they did, but probably should have prepared in advance for someone asking for gin)

I had the chickpea flatbread with lots of yummy tasty things on . I was hungry and the portion was pretty small. An extra Flatbread would help. My husband had Halloughton and chips which were nice but expensive for what you get. The dessert was good! Wine was horrendously expensive although the Chilean Merlot was nice. They had run out of soft drinks and coffee!! Altogether rather expensive for small portions and not much atmosphere.

Ate there on 08/03/18, we were 20 minutes late due to traffic. I called but only got a answerphone. We were thankfully still ok to have the table. We were a party of 3 having 3 courses. We ordered a bottle of wine which was just plonked on the table, not opened, not poured. We were not offered water and generally the service was unfriendly from the male member of staff. When we paid our bill he did not ask if we enjoyed our food (we did) but we did not like the vibe. On a positive note we ate here on 07/02/18 and the service was fab, it was friendly, we were offered & brought water, given complimentary bread and just was what I regard normal for a restaurant- last night totally failed on that sadly. It was also cold with most diners keeping coats on.

Amazing food although the choice is limited. The service was terrible. 30 minutes before a drinks order was taken and then the order was wrong. We were brought the wrong food and had a delay in getting the correct meals. The staff didn’t know the menu options and what we were ordering however after complaining to the new manager we had free deserts, free drinks and 50% off the bill so a good recovery from what could have been a terrible experience

Visited for the first time yesterday, had to wait 40 mins for starters and 30 for mains. Portions were small and soup was served without bread. I was very disappointed as having recently started a vegan diet I had hoped we would have a decent restaurant to go to but not worth the money to be honest.

Really cross. Having gone in to my emails to check the time of my booking with you tomorrow to bring friends to dine with you; I find a ‘booking cancellation’ email with no explanation. I had provided a phone number. I also had to provide my credit card details in case I let you down on the booking. Terrible communication, when you have evidently decided to close down for redevelopment AFTER people have made bookings in good faith.
